NO NOT use Amerigas. Use any other provider. They do not have competitive rates and will charge you for asinine things. I finally ended my service with them and they charged me $500 to pick up THEIR TANK. Never sent me a statement then started charging me LATE fees without me even knowing about it! Also - I never moved so I would have gotten the bill. Then they proceed to tell me that since my account is CLOSED they can't take the late fees off however, they can still ADD them (even though my account is closed) What a joke. ... read more
This has been the absolute worst company to deal with. I wish I would have cancelled sooner!! Over the last several months every phone call leads to nothing being done! I have to keep chasing these people. They have scheduled my tank pick up and rescheduled because no one ever showed up!! The tank has been sitting on my front lawn for 7weeks!! No positive comments. Online website for customer support is horrible and erratic. Difficult to get a live person, difficult to communicate due to poor English. Excessive fees, tank rental cost is high, propane gas cost is high. Tank removal fee is ridiculous, plus another fee for the technician.
The delivery time frame is terrible! I ordered my propane on the 2nd of this month and I am still waiting on the delivery. Why is the delivery not being done? If I call customer service Im being told Im far away and Im not. If Im to far away why did you except me as a customer years ago? I get charged delivery fees and all other fees they put on people. In early Sept.. I received a post card from Amerigas saying if I ordered, online a gas delivery before Sept. 19, I would be eligible for a discount. I made my order which was delivered Sept 17. On Sept 22, I received an invoice containing no discount. I've communicated with Amerigas by phone,emails and chat without getting Amerigas to provide me with the $20 discount I earned.I can't think of any suggestions to improve Amerigas service.
I just received a bill for $579.34 after terminating service and requesting tank removal. The pick up charge was $299.99 and there were additional charges for "service dispatch" of $119.99 and "early termination fee" of $149.99. I have used this company for 3 years without a contract. These fees are absurd!
This company socks. Charge to much for propane. Plus fuel fee and hazmat fee apparently when you own a delivery service the customer pays for the gas to deliver the product. If you cancel service they want to charge you a 300 dollar fee to pick up their equipment. If they want the tank back why do I have to pay for then to come get it Ridiculous id give them zero stars but it won't let me. Typical business just gouging the consumer for every ***** they can.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH AMERIGAS! Been trying to cancel service for months due to criminal pricing. Paid $3.65 per gallon in May and found out neighbors were paying $2.59 from a competitor. After countless calls and hours on the phone with countless different people, I was told they'd come drain the tank and then have someone pick the tank up. This was 4 weeks ago. First off they charge my dad $9.99 to call and order propane. The driver wouldn't take a payment so then they charged $2.99 to send him a bill in the mail. When we called they said you have to cerate an account so you can order and pay that way. Well my 85 year old father doesn't have a computer or good internet at his home.
