So crazy, what I and everyone thought Lolli was was a husky/german Shepard mix but those were the very last ones. She is mainly lab/ Australian Shepard. This was so much fun waiting for the results. This also brings the idea of things I would think she would be interested in. She loves swimming and fetching sticks in the water. Took her as soon as I had the results to try new adventures.
I am so glad I found pet ancestry. We purchased a puppy online that we were told was a Yorkshire Terrier but by his 6 month he didn’t look full Yorkie. His hair hasn’t grown and his vet was not sure. Our result told us he is 94% yorkie and 6 % coton de tulear. I had never heard of that breed but it was fun learning about it.
Very surprised with the DNA outcome. Didn't think my dog had a retriever in him. Wish we could have find some of his siblings on the DNA. Overall very knowledgeable and pretty fast results.
Our daughter bought us the DNA kit as a gift. We thought we were buying another Labrador/Kelpie cross like our 10-year-old dog, but our 8-month-old male puppy is already much taller and heavier than her. Length of time was not bad. Results came and that was interesting- not what I expected, but happy to know. What I THOUGHT would happen was connecting with owners of pets with same dna. They tell to select or to message- but then because of PRIVACY, you can’t. 🙄 With people, you can connect and ask questions- but dogs? Nah, can’t do it. I had really hoped to pinpoint her age, and now I can’t. She was a rescue and nothing is known. So that’s that.
So glad we did the DNA on both our dogs. The results were very informative and somewhat surprising in one case. Would definitely recommend doing it. Had the results in 3-4 weeks. Quite quick turnaround 👍
I thought the process would have taken several weeks, but it only took three so I was very happy!!
The whole experience was super easy and convenient from setting up an account, completing the test, mailing and getting updates. Highly recommend and you might find something that makes you say to your furry pal, Who Knew!?
We were so curious what our little mixed breed adopted doggie is, and so delighted with the results. Now it all makes sense, and we love her even more and have a better idea how to train her and care for her going forward.
