I thought the staff communication was awful. I dropped my dog off at 10pm and she was not seen till 5:00 pm the next day. They discharged her and she was to get medicine at 7pm but no one called and finally we called at 7:30 pm to find out when we could pick her up. obviously she was late getting her medicine. There was no communication except when I called frequently to check on her. Don't think I will go back. The Doctor was very knowledgeable when I eventually spoke with her.

Business response:

Hello Joan- I sincerely hope sweet Bailey is on the mend. I've followed up with you directly through your email and I hope it sufficiently addresses any concerns you may have had. If you have any further questions/concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out! - Amanda, LVT (Medical Operations Assistant Manager)

We, my dog and us, were treated poorly aside from the drop off, in which the staff were friendly and courteous and encouraging. We informed them of the problem and wrote it on the admission sheet. They were informed of a broken leg or hip. They assured us that he would have an x ray and pain med right away. After waiting about 2 hrs in the parking lot was told the doctor would be talking to us soon and that he had had pain medicine. A couple hours later, I went to the door and asked to speak to the Vet. They said no,he was d... read more

My kitten had a sore/small hole on his neck so I brought him in for what I expected to be a botfly. They charged me 99 dollars so they can give him pain relief medicine, so they could shave around the wound and wash it out. they said "nothing" was in it. Then charged me for more pain meds to bring home. So all together they charged me $392 to wash his wound and tell me nothing was in it. took him to a different vet a couple days later after it was cleary getting worse and they pulled larva from his neck. So I paid almost $40... read more

I took my cat to this hospital on Wednesday because she had issues walking and they told me she had a disease that was comparable in people like Vertigo. They sent me home with anti nausea medicine and Dramamine and said she would be better in 2 days. This visit cost me $800. The next day I took her to another Vet and within minutes upon examination they found she had a terrible wound in her front paw. So bad that the wound already had maggots in it and there was no way to save it or her without amputation. So I had to pay a... read more

Way too expensive and because they only take cash no way for anyone to chargeback them because they bilk just about everyone. Took my dog here as he was sick and they tried to charge me for a X-ray when I told them up front no when doctor said that was a second option after some blood work. Place are crooks

I was very disappointed in the lack of communication when I took my dog in for just a few stitches that took them 10 hours and over 1,000$ and the exam was included in the bill to only notice a bit later that his anal gland was swollen and they didn’t notice or mention it then not taking him back to take care of it so we took him to the original vet who charged way less and took them ten minutes and he was easily taken care of.

Business response:

Vanessa, we apologize for the lack of communication during your visit. We are experiencing higher volume due to our hospital being the only 24/7 ER in Grand Rapids and other challenges associated with the pandemic. Since your pet was seen for a laceration repair, anesthesia is required which can be costly. We understand that emergency veterinary care can be costly, which is why we always try to accommodate our clients to the best of our ability to work within a budget to provide the best care possible. It is not routine to p... read more
