Animal Emergency Hospital has both saved my rabbit’s life and allowed my 16 year-old cat go peacefully. Before tonight, I have had very positive experiences with this hospital. The situation tonight has disappointed me greatly.

Business response:

Thank you for always trusting us with your pet emergencies, Jennifer. We are saddened to hear though you did not have a good experience recently. Please feel free to call us at 410-420-7297 to speak with someone from our management team about your concerns.

Six months ago, Fritz collapsed after having a seizure. He was severely anemic, very weak, and had trouble breathing. Since he is FIV+ and FeLV+, the prognosis wasn’t good. I’d only had him one month, but wanted to give him every possible chance. They secured a compatible blood donation, administered the transfusion, and closely monitored him. Even with the transfusion, the prognosis was bleak. Six months later, Fritz is living his best life!

Business response:

We are so happy to hear Fritz is doing so well! Please give him love from all of us!

I’ve paid over $1,500 2 separate Animal Emergency Hospitals Multiple visits & Multiple hours sitting in the parking lot... Weeks later my cat is still passing ribbon that could have wrapped around his intenstines and easily killed him but he was sent home being diagnosed with “Foreign object” (They didn’t even know about the ribbon until he passed it the first time at home in my care) No calls to check on him after discharge No answers and most defiantly no concerns about his health.. It was pure negligence and when t... read more

My kitten is extremely ill, I was supposed to be seen immediately just to determine if he was stable enough to make it to tomorrow, we’ll long story short my poor kitten was left whimpering in the waiting room in pain for an hour after the front desk called the back office FOUR TIMES to come get him. I guess no one could get off their ass.

Business response:

We are saddened to hear you did have a good experience at our hospital and wanted to address your concerns. Our #1 goal is to provide the dedicated and compassionate care that we are known for to every patient that comes to see us. Sometimes an emergency comes through our doors, such as trouble breathing, seizures, etc, that require life-saving attention and may delay assessment for a stable patient that is waiting to be seen. Our receptionists are well trained in assisting any clients that are waiting in the lobby and are h... read more

my dog was labelled their lowest priority so we waited 16 hours for treatment and by the time we were able to be seen by another vet, she needed much more intensive care. they put her in the “skin condition” category when she had a severe infection that made her unable to use one of her legs. i understand triage is an important part of emergency care, but they clearly never intended to treat her. there were 3 patients ahead of her at 7pm when we checked her in and over 20 by the time i got her to her regular vet at 11am. the... read more

Business response:

Ms. Haley, Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We understand how stressful it can be when your fur baby is not feeling well and wanted to address your concerns. After checking into ER Express, it is recommended waiting at home with your pet until a text is sent stating we are ready to see them. Unfortunately sometimes our wait time can be several hours long, so this allows patients to wait in the comfort of their home instead of at the hospital where it may sometimes cause unnecessary stress. Weekends are very b... read more

I brought my cat here because he has been steadily declining and I feel like he needs to be euthanized. The person at the front desk could have been working at a 7-Eleven for all of the compassion that she showed. I decided I wanted to have an exam and talk to the doctor before actually euthanizing. While I could have been present with the doctor during the euthanasia, they would not let me be in the room with the doctor during the exam. Needless to say I took my cat and I’m going elsewhere..

We arrived with our little girl who was going to have puppies, we arrived and told them that she had two hours with contractions and there are no puppies in sight, we knew that it is not good to leave them more than two hours so we went to the emergency hospital . They admitted her quickly, after an hour they told us they were going to do a cesarean section and we said yes, and they still waited 2 more hours for a cesarean section. two puppies died from complications (they waited a long time, it is supposed to be an emerge... read more

was refered by veterinary professional a month ago for a completely different issue. 1st pets are seen based on three tiers of emergency level and more critical situations get pushed to the front for care, ones wait can be drastically effected at any given time. Now how can i have such a great experience on my first visit ever now i dont feel comfortable here and im not questioning the medical care of my dogs i have no issues on that end. Here is today's (september 13,2020) step by step, i called ahead to let them know i was ... read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had, I understand the pandemic is going on but when your vet refers you to go to an emergency vet as your pup has not kept anything down for 4 days now and today incurred diarrhea that looked like jelly (vet is worried about dehydration as well with being a smaller dog) and you already walk in upset and are greeted by a rude receptionist stating your dog looks ok, and not in distress, we are only taking animals in distress - I said what exactly does that mean? She said "well if your... read more

Business response:

We are saddened to hear there was miscommunication when you arrived at our hospital yesterday. Currently due to the pandemic of COVID19, we are experiencing increased wait times. Once you have been checked in, a technician meets you in the lobby to take your pet back to triage to be assessed by one of our doctors. If a patient is deemed critical, they will be seen immediately and a doctor will speak with you after they have performed the exam. If a patient is deemed stable, they are waiting their turn to have a further asses... read more
