For the life of me, I dont know how this company has such a high rating. Mr. Ashpaugh made a very poor first impression with his unkempt appearance and missing teeth. More importantly, he did not seem to know about or offer us halogen lighting for under the kitchen cabinets. Instead, he told us we ONLY had a choice between canned lighting or florescent, and couldnt have a dimmer switch. Initially, electrician couldnt do job, and took ballast to find a replacement. When nobody returned after 6 weeks, we had to find our own replacement, and called Ashpaugh to come install it. They couldnt get the replacement to work either, but since they took the original ballast (and subsequently lost it), we couldnt get the replacement part number. Another few weeks of non-action ensued, but when I wrote a scathing letter to the owner, Brian Ashpaugh responded and got the job done immediately. It required him calling the m... read more

Less than 9 months after ceiling fan was installed it quit working. I was terrified that it was a short in the wiring and because there is no direct on/off switch that this may be a hazard. It took three phone calls for Ashpaugh to agree to stop by the house just to check the wiring they had installed. Tech was here no more than 20 mins. Their office is less than half a mile from here. THERE WAS SOME MISCOMMUNICATION ABOUT WHAT WE NEEDED DONE. WHEN THE MAN CAME HE WAS UNABLE TO WORK ON THE DAMAGED ITEMS EVEN THOUGH WE WERE SPECIFIC ABOUT WHAT WE NEEDED LOOKED AT WHEN MAKING THE SERVICE REQUEST. HE WAS VERY POLITE BUT CHARGED US FOR THE SERVICE CALL EVEN THOUGH HE COULDN'T HELP US. I SPOKE WITH BRIAN ASHPAUGH AND HE REMOVED THE CHARGE.

AFTER WAITING HOURS FOR ANOTHER ANGIE'S LIST ELECTRICIAN TO SHOW UP AND EVENTUALLY GIVING UP, I CHECKED THE LIST AND CALLED ASHPAUGH-THE HIGHEST RATED NORTHSIDE ELECTRICIAN TO PERFORM THE WORK. I WAS ABLE TO GET AN APPOINTMENT THE NEXT DAY WITH A WINDOW OF 8:00 TO NOON, WITH A 30 MINUTE CALL AHEAD. I TOOK THE MORNING OFF FROM WORK IN ORDER TO ACCOMMODATE THIS SERVICE CALL. AT NOON, I CALLED THE OFFICE TO LEARN THAT THEY WERE RUNNING ABOUT AN HOUR AND A HALF LATE! I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL SAYING THEY WOULD BE LATE. I MISSED WO... read more

WHEN THEY ARRIVED, I ASKED WHY MY POOL LIGHT DID NOT WORK. HE SAID THERE WAS A PROBLEM BETWEEN MY SWITCH AND THE GFI. WE RECEIVED A QUOTE AND THEY REWIRED. WHEN HE WAS FINISHED HE SAID EVERYTHING WAS ALL DONE, BUT THAT MY POOL LIGHT WAS NOT WORKING. THE POOL COMPANY FOUND THAT ASHPAUGH DID INSTALL THE ELECTRICAL CIRCUIT BACKWARDS AND AFTER DEMONSTRATING THIS TO ASHPAUGH, THEY ACKNOWLEDGED THE ERROR AND REPAIRED IT. THEY INDICATED THIS WAS WITHIN THE SCOPE OF THEIR BUSINESS. THEY PROMISED TO COME THE NEXT DAY AND CALL BEFORE COMING. NO CALL, NO SHOW. TWO FURTHER WORKDAYS PASSED WITHOUT CONTACT. I'LL NOW FIND OTHERS TO DO THE JOB. COMMITMENT NOT KEPT, NO EFFORT TO CONTACT ME TO EXPLAIN OR RESCHEDULE.

BEFORE SCHEDULING WITH THEM, BE SURE YOU EXPLAIN EXACTLY WHAT WILL BE DONE, E.G. WEIGHT OF LIGHT AND WHERE IT'LL BE INSTALLED. IF THEY DON'T HAVE A PART ON THE TRUCK, YOU CAN BE CHARGED FOR THE TIME IT TAKES THEM TO RETURN TO WESTFIELD TO GET WHAT THEY NEED. I COULD HAVE SAVED MONEY BY TELLING THEM TO LEAVE AT THAT POINT AND GOING WITH A DIFFERENT COMPANY. IT WASN'T EXPLAINED THAT THE 'CLOCK WAS STILL RUNNING'.
