I think it's awesome that teachers get in for free! This made me so happy to get to experience this and possibly consider this as a field trip in the future. This places was packed on a Saturday! There was lots to see and so many different ways to feed the animals. I was enjoying watching others go into the cages and feed them. The iguana likes to get out of his area. It was quite funny and entertaining! I chose to feed the koi fish because they are so funny to watch! There's lot of different photo opportunities and plenty o... read more
completely misled. Its not an aquarium. it's a children's petting zoo. a complete rip-off for $27 per adult.
We had a good time there except for the fact that we asked if we can do some encounters and one staff member told us they aren't doing certain ones because there wasn't enough staff . Then I'm guessing they where doing some type of construction and my 1year old child was walking when a ladder literally fell and almost hit him,the guy just stood there not even apologizing.
This place is CRUEL. I was almost in tears when we left because of the treatment of these animals and fish. There was a poor bird right at the entry who had lost all of his feathers from stress. It was very sad. All enclosures were very very small and didn't have enough for the animals to play with or do. The tanks were all way too small for the amount of sea life and did not contain hiding spots or entertainment for the sea life living in them. The amount of touch tanks and animal enclosure that people can interact with was... read more
it's pretty small , easily completed in an hour or hour and a half. They were more interested in entertaining the large field trips than they were helping us with the interactive exhibits. seems a little run down. didn't like some of the very small enclosures that some of the animals were kept in such as the large snake and the eel. seems cruel
The workers are so nice. Everything is clean like Cages and tanks. The animals all seemed healthy. And me and my family enjoyed it.
Me and my three kids recently visited the Austin Aquarium. We used to live in Austin and enjoyed coming here from time to time to see the aquatic life. I assumed it was the same. Sadly they have added Lemurs and a sloth. If you pay enough you can go into the enclosures with these animals. I was absolutely appalled. These mammals are not meant to live indoors inside tiny enclosures. Most of the fish tanks were also over crowded. Afterwards my parents informed me that the aquarium has been sued for people getting bit by the le... read more
Please don't give this place your business. We came here on Sat and the minute we walked in, we saw parrots flying freely around and one of the parrots looked visibly unwell. The feathers on its head is almost all plucked off. I don't know about you, but that's a first red sign to me that the animals here may not be well taken care of. And we had parrots flying really close to us a few times, which is a little unnerving. We checked out the lemurs that are close to the entrance and one of the lemurs jumped at us, hitting the ... read more
Expected it to be larger the exhibits were so small for these animals it made me sad. Kids banging on the glass with parents not telling them to respect the animals. Expensive coins to feed the overly fed animals. Only to be told most times we cannot not no staff is free to help us. Then why sell us coins! And this aquarium had a few animals I would not expect at an aquarium like monkeys?
