...this was a pretty horrible experience. Our Girl Scout troop paid really good money to stay overnight and sleep with the sharks. The shark tank was basically about waist high and incredibly disappointing. But what was more disappointing was the fact that all the girls were set up to sleep on a hard, smelly floor only to be invaded by cockroaches. Needless to say we did not stay the night and we all left about 2 1/2 hours after getting there.
My girlfriend got bit in the face by a lemur and then when asked about it by a reporter they blamed her not following the rules. This is not true. Don't give this place your money
PETA get here now! 1 star because the fish and animals are beautiful. I left the Austin Aquarium truly sad. The place is in disrepair and smells. I don't think it has been cleaned since the 90s. If all of the fish are alive, why does it smell like an old fish market? Also, we spotted open wiring above the water tanks. We saw leaking tanks. Unbelievable! Talk with your money and take it elsewhere! Read this before you go: https://www.peta.org/blog/austin-aquarium-a-strip-mall-petting-zoo-dump/
My family and I visited the Austin aquarium today for the first time. It was very fun! There is ample parking for everyone , as it has a large parking lot. Upon entering the establishment, we were warmly greeted by two employees and two beautiful birds! The birds were so friendly, they were crawling all over the employee, they were obviously very happy and loved. It was $25 to get in for an adult. They also sell tokens to buy food for the animals. Most of the animals are actually touchable! There are rules and restrictions t... read more
Awful, appalling. First two words that come to mind. The stench right as you walk in the door should be the first clue this place is inhumane. A parrot greeted us at the door shaking with half of its feathers gone. We entered around 2:15 and were gone by 2:30 as I scooted my daughter through. How is this okay? Animals in terribly small enclosures, no daylight, signs that actually say "touch me!" A high school girl was touring and I overheard her say, "these animals look like they hate life". How can anyone enter this establi... read more
This was a fun thing to do to kill a few hours. It is not very big, but you can interact with the different animals and feed them. You can rack out a pretty big bill very quickly if you want to interact with multiple animals. Feeding the otter was very fun!
Awesome trip as always. Super nice staff and clean exhibits. If you're a positive person, you'll have a good time.
It's not horrible but there's much better stuff out there for the money. It's essentially a converted grocery store. The lighting and set ups are somewhat makeshift in some areas. Don't get me wrong, it's better than anything I could ever set up with aquariums, but it needs major upgrading.
Nice and friendly staff. The fish and other animals were nice. We enjoyed feeding the fish. Great place for a quick trip but don't go there expecting the Georgia Aquarium or equivalent. Cool experience none the less.
