I came to write this review because I was just told for the SECOND time AFTER MY ARRIVAL that I needed to reschedule my appointment. First, I went there last week for my appointment. I filled in all of my forms ahead of time, and I uploaded my insurance information to the portal per their request. I also arrived 20 minutes early still, even with my info uploaded. Terrible customer service. Walked in and was immediately assaulted by front desk about something...couldn’t even tell due to the barrage of yelling coming out of her mouth. Treated us horribly so we walked out. Never in a medical clinic have I seen patients treated in such a manner. I own medical clinics and have never even seen an unruly patient treated in such a manner. Lots of options out there. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of Avance.

As a result, all Avance Care locations have posted signage on the front door requesting that no one enter the building, unless they have an appointment. Advance Care of Durham was a God Send for me for it being open on week ends and close by many stores that I frequent including pharmacy. Problem is there is no dependability of doctors. I have had 3 different ones in the last year with none having stayed more than 3 months at a time. Billing is a mess. Even though I can pay I have been sent to collections already in the less than a year I have been seen there. So sad for me. I have no trust left, though doctors that I had seen were really nice.

Injured my foot this February and after a few weeks of still being in pain decided to get an xray in March to make sure everything was ok. Got an xray, doc said it was all fine and printed off diagnosis papers from the internet (I could have done that and did before coming in) and said it'll just take some more time to heal. Left feeling good about the xray "saying" everything was fine but kind of disappointed with the care/next steps from the doc since I was in pain. First rate medical office! Dr Lam is an excellent PCP as she is an excellent diagnostician and has great people skills. She has helped me tremendously to get my diabetes numbers down I only 3 weeks. Very highly recommended.

The Labcorp person taking blood samples is horrible. She dug into my hand several times and gave up. Please retire her. No blood samples were taken and wanted me to come back another time. I never had such a bad experience. She is a nervous person. The person before her was much better.

Outstanding primary care provider! Dr. Lam is an amazing diagnostician and I felt very comfortable with her. She is very bright and explains everything you need to know. This whole office is at the the top of their game; no long wait times, efficient staff and pristine office environment. Highly recommended.

Providers are great. That being said, the office will not make you aware that the provider you have an appointment with is not in your network. $1800.00 later with a surprise bill. Only way I found out not in our BCBS network was by calling insurance company. There is always a “surprise” bill for something. Never told before being seen. And they will not see you if bill not paid. I feel they are more interested in making money than actually caring about the patient. It’s a racket!

Really not happy with how apex office is treating it's patients. I called them twice to get an appointment for me and my wife are the annual checkup, they put us on hold and don't respond. Frustrated with this took the risk of going to the office to get an appointment. The office staff were simply roaming around instead of seeing me an appointment.
