WE had a 7.30 pm booking at the start of the festival and were seated on arrival. The staff were attentive and the service was not too slow. Overall a nice experience in a very nice surroundings
Great meal on a busy Saturday night. Waited about 50mins for the main course which we didn't really mind as it was all lovely. When the bill arrived the waitress had unexpectedly deducted 25% off the food because of the wait, without us even having said anything! Top marks for that!!! Would definitely recommend and we will be back!
Although we really enjoyed it - a few of us have been back in Oct when it was a different deal which was much better. You don't get half as much food with the new deal and it costs more. Our bill came which was completely wrong so thankfully we had checked it first. I would still go back for drinks but overall I was disappointed with the brunch.
Visited with two friends on a Friday night. Very quiet when we arrived but then got very busy, hence the deterioration in service I imagine (though not to an alarming extent). The food and wine were lovely and good value considering the location. Lovely interior too. Would definitely go again.

My husband and I visited the restaurant on Wednesday 17th July. The service was good, the food was good and the house red was good! I was a little bit disappointed that we could only choose from a light lunch menu. I thought there was a set menu available, but the choice was still good. It was a beautifully decorated dining room and it had interesting features around the theme of Wind in the Willows. The music was too loud though.
Most comfortable restaurant we have been to. Staff were excellent. A very enjoyable and relaxing evening. Will return.
Great food and cocktails - delicious lobster roll special! Loved the Badger & Edinburgh Gin branding. Attentive and friendly staff. Perfect for a girly lunch.
The only reason we visited was for a lovely meal out in our last evening in Edinburgh. As this was a Sunday we went for somewhere selling a Sunday roast. Unfortunately as soon as we were seated (we arrived 5mins early and table was being setup for us) we were told the Sunday roast had sold out aswell as the lamb. Now there isn't a huge choice to begin with so to be told those 2 options are sold out on a Sunday evening didn't leave much left to chose from.
