Oh dear. This restaurant will not survive in a competitive market like edinburgh if improvements are not made. I have never experienced such a bad attitude from a ‘manager’ ever. The decor is nice, the menu was ok. The food (roast chicken for me and fish and chips for my friend) was nice. The wine was nice and reasonably priced but the ambiance was lacking and the service was down right awful. The waitress didn’t seem interested and the ‘manager’ was literally just wandering about. Big heavy chairs were literally being dragg... read more
Enjoyed the cocktails. Two items had been left off the sharing platter, which we had to ask for. No side plates given for sharing platter. No apology either. Forgot to give cutlery for mains too. When steak came, the peppercorn sauce had been forgotten too. After asking twice for it, I gave up. Empty water jugs taken away but not replenished - had to ask again. Disappointing service, after hearing good things.
Service was horrible
I had a table booked last Saturday evening for a family catch up. I always heard good reviews so thought I would give you guys a go. On arrival we never recieved a warm welcome. Staff looked unhappy. Took quite a while to take our drinks & food order. I would understand if it was busy, but the restaurant was not. Food was good what we ordered but not the best varied menu. It’s a lovely setting but staff attitude was a big let down.
Excellent food with a lively atmosphere. No complaints.
Not a fan. Paid 15 pound for a roast and the vegetables were rock hard. Meat not cooked properly. Over priced.
We probably picked the wrong venue for a friends' get together. This place is probably good if you're looking for cocktails and pumping music but not worth going to as a restaurant although the food was surprisingly good.
Was our last night in Edinburgh and wanted a nice dinner with our friends. The atmosphere was nice. I ordered a soup which came very quick and very hot. The entire bowl was dropped in my lap. My shirt, pants and boots were covered in cheese and cauliflower. I was handed some dry napkins while the waitress cleaned the table. I know accidents happen... But I had to ask for a wet cloth to clean myself up the best I could.... And we had to ask to move to another table since the entire seat and floor were covered in soup. Then th... read more
New to me and thought I was getting a 20% off deal by booking via Opentable, but it was never realised. I wouldn't mind paying full price if the meal was good, turned out it was so so. It was a quiet Tuesday lunch time, service was good until waiters and waitresses put all their attention on a group of business men. After starter finished, we were still starving and waited for 20-30min for our mains, in the end I had to grab a waitress' attention to indicate that we've finished starters already. So overall, it was not so goo... read more
