Very disappointing after good experience visiting 12 months ago. Although the restaurant was empty we were seated next to a group who had obviously been drinking for most of the day, were very loud and using objectionable language, Given that I had booked the restaurant months ago for my wife’s birthday and I was not prepared for it to be spoiled by inconsiderate diners. As a result we left after the main course. Pity really as the food was very good, albeit that we were unable to have bread and olives from the menu along wi... read more
We selected this venue due to the excellent Scottish menu on the website only to find that 85% of it was no longer available, very disappointing start to our evening. There was only a limited menu available, I settled for a very large steak pie, no accompanying veggie even although it was £14.00, the meat could have been cooked a tad longer the pastry non discript . The wine selection proved to be quite good. I won't be back for food.
Terrible lunch but dealt with professionally by manager. Everything that could go wrong, did, from bad food, poor service etc. Manager fessed up and dealt with so no complaints but the place has undoubtedly taken a turn for the worse on the food front. What was once a great experience is sadly now an non starter.
This venue was inviting and the staff were generally friendly and helpful. My wife really enjoyed her meal from beginning to end. I had a bad experience that was not addressed. Unfortunately, I ordered the oven roasted cod which most restaurants find easy to get right. Not so Badger & Co. The cod was largely raw and uncooked and tasted awful - I thought perhaps it had been prepared by a sushi chef. When I mentioned this to the waiter, the response I got was 'I'll tell the chef'. No apology, no offer to send it back to the ki... read more
Pretty bad. Never again. The service was abysmal. The food was poor and overpriced. I described my chicken and i pie as "flaccid". My friend didn't think there was any game in his game pie. The carrots that we ordered turned out to be very burned parsnips. I could go on ...
The service was very slow for lunch and the portions were small and relatively expensive. I like the decor and the location and I've had a good cocktail there in the evening, but I won't be recommending to anyone.
Love this place. Right in city centre, just off George St in Castle St. A m a z i n g
Restaurant cold and breezy. Downstairs toilets absolutely freezing. Service very slow - 40 minutes for food to be served and it wasn’t even busy. Food ok but I was likely past it by the time it eventually arrived. Really wish I’d gone to the establishments on St Andrew Square.
Poor service, food was average and couldn’t accommodate anything for a special occasion ... table was nice and good vibe but that’s about it !
