Nice place and welcome. Unfortunately food was a huge disappointment. Fish and chips looked like a child’s portion. Burger overdone. Plates looked empty and wholly underwhelming when they arrived and didn’t improve. Shame as nice place.
I have been to Badger &Co and had lovely meals this time it was very disappointing. I expected a 2 course lunch as it said on the website but that had stopped, what we did order my fish and chips, the fish was okay but the chips were terrible dry and burnt, my friend also was unable to eat her chips and her hamburger was no better, but they did take her meal off the bill. Such a shame as it is a nice place and could be so much better.
Was looking forward to our birthday meal however the already limited menu had 4 dishes nolonger available and as our party was for 5 -3 of the party were 6ft men - being seated at a table for four made it a bit too tight for a comfortable evening. Overall a very disappointing evening.
Unfortunately the staff did not read our special requirements note on our booking. We arrived on time, however a suitable table was not reserved for us, despite booking several days in advance.
The food wasn’t great at all. The steak pie is just a pie with no sides as they class the veg inside the pie as the extras and the gnocchi tasted very fried and stodgy with a heavy mushroom sauce. Thankfully the deserts and cocktails were both lovely and the atmosphere was nice. I definitely wouldn’t recommend for dinner and would only return for drinks.
arrived for 7.30 booking asked if table was ready and was told to wait at the bar, went back at 7.50 to ask what was happening, to be shown to our table. We booked the table for the festive menu, but upon arrival I was told I couldn’t have this as the meals are pre ordered. Should really state this on the menu. We decided to order of the menu and didn’t receive our starter until 8.30 then. Not at any point where we offered drinks in between these lengthy waits. It was then 9.30 but they time we received our mains, again with... read more
Staff were lovely but Service, we weren’t asked if we wanted drinks when food order came and service was slow. Food was overpriced and burgers very dry. Really nice place but didn’t live up to expectations
I booked this restaurant for a special day out with my Mum in Edinburgh. Online this restaurant sounded fab, with a lovely menu. We arrived and were shown to our table, which was squished between two other tables of two. We decided to move to another table as there were a number of others available. There was only one waiter serving the entire restaurant, so it was difficult to get his attention. Although he did a very good job. We ordered the fish sharing platter, which sounded delicious. Unfortunately when it came, the cal... read more
Very disappointing after good experience visiting 12 months ago. Although the restaurant was empty we were seated next to a group who had obviously been drinking for most of the day, were very loud and using objectionable language, Given that I had booked the restaurant months ago for my wife’s birthday and I was not prepared for it to be spoiled by inconsiderate diners. As a result we left after the main course. Pity really as the food was very good, albeit that we were unable to have bread and olives from the menu along wi... read more
