Food took a long time to come and when it did, for some in the group was pretty cold. Not very friendly staff.

Badger is favourite of mine and I eat there at least a couple of times a month. The ambience is pleasant, the staff are very friendly and attentive and the food is always tasty. However, I’m not a fan of the new menu. Some come with veg and potatoes/fries and others don’t and portions are either enormous or sparse. My friend had an enormous plate of fish and chips which she struggled to finish and I had the chicken supreme which was very tasty but the piece of chicken was barely bigger than a drumstick. Started with the caramelised onion and pork croquette. We enjoyed both though my wife would have preferred the onion slightly more cooked but that’s just a preference. I had the pork tomahawk which was very good. I can only recall having a nicer bit of pork on one occasion but that’s was a different specialised cut. The steak was cooked to perfection and the red wine jus was good. Chips were particularly good. Chose the cod in fennel sauce with smoked mussels, baby leeks and samphire - great choice as it was delicious and very well presented. Good to have a choice of something a bit unusual for a change. Team were attentive and really friendly. We'll definitely be back!

We’ve been here a few times and the food has always been good but our fish & chips was below standards this time. Service was excellent as ever and the general surroundings are very nice. Will put it down to a one-off and probably go back again.

The food was good and I loved the ambiance. We got the chicken and the pork chop. My husband loved the pork chop and we both enjoyed the mac and cheese. They also had some really good cocktails. The service was slow when we were there we had to get up and ask for more drinks as our server never returned to the table. I also heard other guests complaining that the server had not come back to check on them. Other than that it was a a great place to eat.

Unfortunately the service was very slow, food took over an hour to arrive and we had to keep asking for drinks top up etc. I had said on my notes it was my daughter’s 18th and yet no fuss was made except to allow us to bring our cake out. Just felt like we were more of an inconvenience than welcome guests.
