I came here for a late lunch after a late start to my day! I got the crispy chick, the sticky chicky, and the bang bang buns. Each bun is $4.85 but you can get three as a combo for $14.50. I did wait a super long time for some reason but the server was nice about it and I had a large snack earlier that was holding me over.. I would definitely say it seemed like there were quite a number of others who also had to wait a while for their food. Everything was super good tho! I actually thought their buns were super fluffy, would... read more
Decent place to grab some Taiwanese styled buns. I like how you can also build your own noodle bowl as well. The buns were soft but I think depending on what meat you get it can be hit or miss. The meat can be a bit dry but otherwise flavorful!
Terrific new Taiwanese place in Center City! Although this place's specialty is buns I was feeling healthy so got a build your own bowl with salad and crispy chicken. It was fresh and super tasty, a great meal. The crispy chicken wasn't super crispy but was very flavorful and juicy. The greens were fresh and the sauce was not too salty. Overall definitely recommend, especially for carry out. They are very quick and the service is excellent. Would definitely come back here and try the buns.
The Bao was pretty good. Some of the meat was a bit dry as was the bun, but the flavor was delicious. Also, the sides are really cool and unique and truly are the best things there. I would definitely go back and it's worth a try if you're nearby.
the best bao I've had! the buns are just so fluffy and delicious. we got the bang bang shrimp and falafel. the bang bang shrimp is packed with flavor and the shrimp is deliciously crispy. it's nice that you can mix and match 3 bao or sides for the combo - 3 is more than enough for one person. the seating area is cute for a quick grab and go spot. food comes out pretty quickly and the service is great. wouldn't recommend the falafel as much as the others but I guess you would expect as much!
We made a pit stop in this neighborhood on our way to NY to grab a quick bite to eat and enjoy the river park near. We ordered a few different baos to share and they were all yum yum delicious! My favorite one was crispy chick! The portion wasn't that much for two of us sharing the three small bao but with their cinnamon dessert bao, it was perfect. If you are in the neighborhood, you should definitely give it a try!
Service and food were amazing!! Definitely coming back to try more. The bun was so fluffy and the meat was super flavorful and tender! Didn't know a bao could be this good
I could eat this a few times a week. So darned good. We decided to order lunch today & so glad we did. This place has some of the highest customer ratings I've seen in some time; so that was my challenge to check it out. Ordering was easy & our food came on time. It did need a little warming but it's winter so I expected that. We enjoyed the Beyond Meat(less) ball bowl, Grilled shrimp bowl, Crispy Chicken Bun, Tempura Shrimp Bun & Hot Mutha Clucka bun. Everything & I mean everything, was delicious right down to the accomp... read more
I've had my fair share of bao-themed restaurants putting everything but the kitchen sink into these white, fluffy, cloud-like carbs. Bao NIne takes it to a whole other level. Their chicken-pork-shrimp combo was savory and filling. This may be the marketing major in me, but props to the team who designed and wrote up their menu. (And yes, I always feel a little extra)
