I tried to like Bark and Board Brookhaven, but they failed me time and time again. I began going to B&B 1-2 times a week at the end of 2017. My husky loves anyone & everyone and would be perfectly happy anywhere I took her for daycare. I chose B&B Brookhaven because it was close to my house, and it was on the way to work (I used to take my dog to PetSuites of Norcross - HIGHLY recommend - when I lived there, and I take my dog to VIPet Orlando - also HIGHLY recommend - every Christmas when I go to Disney World. I was a customer at the Midtown location for years & they were great. I am very disappointed with the Brookhaven location. I dropped off my dog to get groomed and noted it was important his nails get clipped (whole reason I came). I was going to pick him up in an hour. She asked if it was okay if he played for ten minutes beforehand with no mention of extra charge. I said sure. If I could give this place zero (0) stars I would. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I took my sweet baby here for grooming and when I picked her up, she was literally unrecognizable. They had basically shaved her bald. I gave explicit instructions when we came in that I wanted to keep her coat longer due to the cold weather. When I picked her up, they in turn lied and said she was matted so they have to shave her hair! This is a very well-kept and cared for dog, and this could have been no further from the truth! I'm not one to usually leave negative reviews. But I feel like I must give people a heads up. We have been frequenting bark and board since the opened. Twice our dog came home with a stomach bug after boarding. The last time I called for 2 days leaving vm with no return response. I formally got in touch with someone who after reviewing files said "oh yeah- she was sick." We are sorry we forgot to mention it to you. The owner called and apologized. I was annoyed but not mad. I had my dog stay at the Brookhaven location back in September when we decided to go away for a weekend. Now that I am seeing negative reports and news stories, I wish I had posted earlier. Muffin stayed here for a weekend. While checking up on her I noticed an employee throw her over a gate into a play area on multiple occasions. Watching her being abused while being 13 hours away is one of the worst feelings I have ever felt. Do not go here. The staff has poor communication and does not do right by the customer. I boarded my cats this past week and anticipated the prices stated online. When I arrived to pick up my cats they had tacked an extra $60 onto my bill. The manager kept saying things would be different for future customers, yet failed to do the right thing by me and made me pay the fee. This business apparently lacks basic understanding of customer lifetime value. I will never go here again nor recommend this place to any friends that own... read more

Awful place. I have taken my dog here one too many times and experiences issues every time. The staff do not care, mix up dogs all the time (they brought out the wrong dog numerous times just because the dog was the same color)... and the lack of caring from the staff is ridiculous. Recently they have been on the news for dog abuse! Makes me wonder all the times my dog acted funny after leaving BB how they treated him behind the scenes.

We used to bring our dog here for day care until TWICE he came home sick/vomiting. After inspecting the vomit, we noticed he ate some food that was not his because we could tell by the shape and color of the food. We are thankful we stopped going back then since we just learned one of their employees was abusing the dogs. They need to make sure they properly vet their employees as if this was a child day care. Dogs are family and children to most!"

I used to board my dog there and personally had bad experiences with the staff. They are full of attitude, terribly trained and the owner seems to not care! I contacted the owner and he seemed very indifferent to the issue, actually backing up the employee. I'm glad the dog abuse video came out viral and hope they go completely out of business. Also, during the summer months they leave the dogs in the blasting heat and I have caught them leaving them outside when it rains too. I have addressed the issue with the staff on a h... read more
