When the cornerstone for Barley Creek Brewing Company was laid in 1792, it marked the start of what would become one of the most historic buildings in America. The building would eventally grow to include 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, 28 fireplaces, a tennis court, swimming pool, movie theatre and bowling alley. Oh, wait… that’s the White House. Hey, we’re sure the White House is a nice place and all, but we’re just saying… we’d rather be at Barley Creek. Okay, here’s the official histo... read more

Birthday celebration is not complete without passing by to a local brewery. It is the celebrant's trip, trying out a local beer. We get inside not to dine but to take a sip so the bar is the best seat for us. The boys enjoyed their brown ale and brought home a growler filled with it. Inside is a cute gift shop with clear ground floor showing the microbrewery tanks. Sadly, we did not have enough time to see a production rolling. Staff is nice and accommodating.

Happy belated Birthday Lourdes - Appreciate your visit. Midday - midweek there's usually a brewer / distiller happy to show off some of the processes and production capabilities. Cheers Trip R.
First trip back here in 3+ years. Really loved the venue and the ambience. Seems they have now partitioned off some areas to provide a beer and spirits shopping nook, as well as another area to provide a bit more privacy to diners. To us, it has taken away from the charm of the venue. Onto the beer...one of our least liked aspects of previous visits was the lack of proper carbonization to the draft beers. Seems that has not changed. Rescue IPA, one of our favorite BC brews was totally flat today. No lacing, no body, no tast... read more

Thanks for the review and I agree with a lot of your points. Training and a few BOH - proper (always wash the glass by hand when time permits - "4th step rinse off the sanitizing solution above and beyond bar glass cleaning techniques" Working on it. Respectfully, Trip R.
This was a great fine along the route 80 highway. Anybody wanting to get out of the disgusting habit of interstate fast food slop need look no further. Stop here... be rewarded. Delicious beer, amazing sandwiches, fresh salads, man this place has it done and done right. Huge setup with tons of space and fun. This is such a magnificent brewery to stumble into. Enjoy

I am not going to cry. But I’m close. Great review. Thanks Nick ! Cheers Trip R.
Very rustic, which is ok, but it seems not the cleanest place. The turkey corn chowder was ok, the mac and cheese was tasteless. The french dip was passable, the fish and chips took the win! Service? Friendly and the best reason to come here. I can see bringing an entire crew for some good drinks and average food.
Business response:
Appreciate your visit. Benson Woodworking, Post and Beam - timber frame. We work very hard to create a clean environment for the staff and in turn for our guests. Having said that - busy weekends and a shortage of support staff can take its toll fairly fast. The culinary team takes the challenge of creating and delivering quality food from the simplest apps to the most decadent homemade ice cream. Obviously, the brew team and distilling team are having a great time. Respectfully, Trip R.
I'd give this 10 if I could. The food was amazing. The drinks and beers were amazing. Our waiter was kind and on top of serving us. We bought some of their rum and whiskey to take home. Also awesome! Highly recommend
Business response:
Really appreciate your review and look forward to sharing this with the entire Barley Creek team. Cheers - Trip R.
Couldn't recommend this place more if you are visiting the area with your family! We planned in advance to leave our overpriced resort and head offsite for dinner. We sat outside here on a lovely early September evening. Everyone who worked here was very friendly and service was quick. Beer and food were fine. But the reason I am giving them 5 stars is the awesome adjacent lot filled with a separate bar and awesome family activities. We stayed until well after dark with our kids, playing whiffle ball, pickleball, ping pong, ... read more

Hi Kacey, Some days we just do a really good job and have a lot of fun at delivering hospitality. That wiffle ball stadium - we might try and figure out how to make it an ice-skating rink in the not-too-distant future. Cheers Trip R.
We visted after skiing last winter. Made a reservation and they said they would call us in 20 min. We waited 35 and my husband went in to check. They said they could seat us right away so maybe they forgot us? That was the only negative. The bar has a fun vibe with tall ceilings. The bar area has a little take out section with fun candles, wine, alcohol and other fun things. They make their own liquor which was interesting. The mixed drinks were good. Our waiter checked in frequently and was very attentive. They have a kids ... read more

Thanks, Sandahl for the four stars and letting me know about the host - snafu. We have a pretty good program for that - so I'll be checking in with the team and see what's what. Again, thanks for visiting Barley Creek, Cheers - Trip R.
Food was really good. Had spicy guava marg and it was SO goood. My fathers food took a minute it's but everyone was so accommodating and the fish was worth the wait and the manager brought it to the table and apologized for the delay! So nice. Our server, , was really great and on top of everything. I did ask another server for side plates while our server was running food. The other server told me to wait and ask my server. I was a little out off since I have small kid and just wanted to get them fed, however, our server wa... read more

Thanks, Holly, for the five-star shout out and for letting me know that we still have some work. Will be sharing this with the team for hospitality training purposes. Cheers - Trip R.
Came here for dinner with my partner and family. It was simple but well made american fare. The pulled pork sandwiches were delicious (definitely upgrade to french fries! Theyre great.) and the chicken sandwich was good too. The Beer Cheese soup was just alright, but it hit the spot and proved to be a nice french fry dip. Great cocktails and beer selection.
Business response:
Thanks Christopher - Agree with you on the upgrade to fries - I like the sweet potato fry option. Cheers - Trip R.
