My first bookkeeper So far it’s been great. Good communication from my team, easy to use software. Pros I like the user experience, easy to navigate website. Cons My bank didn’t integrate, not entirely sure that’s Bench’s fault so I don’t want to leave bad marks just for that.

SaaS, but with people you get to know Bit of a bumpy onboarding with aggressive trials clearly operated by a different team, but so much smoother once you start a subscription and are assigned your bookkeeper. Pros A pleasant mix of self-service software, with a reliably consistent team who does genuinely get to know my business. Cons It is a walled garden, so no integrations with any existing software. Leads to a lot of duplicate or redundant content in Xero, Expensify, and other tools I use.

Good option for a scrappy startup Pros Bench has allowed our early stage startup to handle US bookkeeping at a reasonable price, and with a real human being behind the interface. Cons I wish they could do tax filing as well for companies owned by foreign individuals and with foreign subsidiaries. I had to use Taxfyle for that reason and I would have preferred to have everything in one place.
