Breakfast bar is great on the weekend's. Store was remodeled a few year's back. Removed some booth's and added tables. Has 2 tv's and free WiFi.
I've always been a fan of Big Boy's. This location at 12 Mile and Hoover in Warren, MI was recently remodeled after a driver took a detour through the east wall of the building. The management here has recently purchased really cool plates and mugs. The coffee is always great and I never have a complaint with the food... always hot and fresh. The salad bar looks clean and fresh. Our server was friendly and very professional. I will definately be going back again.
Have found a new favorite on their menu: the Sunrise Slim Jim with hashbrowns. Delicious! I prefer coffee with a meal like this, but their coffee is awful. Either that or it's been sitting on the burner too long. If that's the case, then they need to make a fresh pot every 20 minutes.
3.75 Stars This is one of the better Big Boys in my area, the one in Eastpointe is great for breakfast but sometimes the dinner time has been hit or miss. Pros: The soup and salad bar is well kept, they seem to care about what they are putting in front of you. The fish and chips have been consistently good. Cons: Prices are going up but considering how they keep this Big Boy it still is a decent value. I'm getting older, so we old people tend to complain that the prices aren't the same as 30 years ago. I was thoroughly impressed by this Big Boy. Usually, this retro inspired chain leaves me thinking strictly of senior specials and unidentifiable's on the salad bar. But this visit was different- the restaurant was bustling with plenty of staff and all were very friendly. I had the cream of broccoli soup (a long time favorite) which was a little lumpy (due to late day soup consumption) but tasted good. I also had a chicken caesar salad which was spectacular.
