What happened to this beautiful restaurant. A portable salad bar area, that is a mess? Dirty tables? Uck. After all this time ( since Covid) you still have the portable salad bar that is a mess. Ordered a small carry out the other day. A double Big Boy, a piece of Strawberry Pie and a Hot Fudge Ice Cream Cake with Strawberry Ice Cream... my hubby was given a bag with his 2 pieces of pie & the cake. He walked immediately back in and told them they gave him the wrong items. They took a piece of pie back and gave him the burger in the same bag with one slice of pice and ice cream cake. My husband ordered spaghetti and as he was eating he noticed it was more sauce than noddles and so we asked if he could get a few more spaghetti noddles they said yes but for 2.00 additional dollars. it was not that the 2.00 was an issue but it was the principle and the manager said that once the customer is eating the food they cannot modify it. I went in to this Big Boy about a week ago with my 2 children and left extremely disappointed and frustrated. I came in and stood patiently at the hostess stand for about 8-10 mins (someone else that came in right behind me left also). No one ever greeted us or said we'll be right with you although I saw plenty of waitresses who saw me standing there. Four star's on the food and service. The grilled chicken sandwich & fries were good, so was the service. - star's for the female manager. First time at this one in a very long time. I was in the restroom, an employee came in, She did not wash her hands when she left. I spoke to the girl at the register and was told that lady was the manager....Really? This restaurant has changed in 50 years and not for the better. Due to hunger and against my past experience I stopped in for a bite. The menu keep changing with a few classics still listed. The service was a very friendly polite slow. Ordered a wrap which fell apart, quite the messy meal, couldn't even use the dull knife to cut the wrap. This makes me sad since Big Boys was my very first employment experience back in my teens.
This used to be my absolute favorite Big Boy restaurant in Southeast Michigan. Until today. Went for lunch with my partner, he got served immediately. When he only had two more bites of his meal to go, the waitress finally came to the table to tell me mine would be a few more minutes. I told her since my partner was almost finished, just pack mine to go. He finished his meal and we waited about seven more minutes and the waitress said the cook burned my meal and had to start over. The waitress took our order and never came back. Another waitress who was 8 months pregnant had to get our check. We got no refills, no sauce for our onion rings. This big boy used to be the place to go. Sad how things have changed.
Didn't go there for years. It was dirty looking and food was greasy and gross. Since they reopened after remodeling, we went to check it out. Looks nice inside. No one as knowledge dis at the door .. nothing going on. Everyone wandering around, would glance over. Once sat, again no acknowledgement. Servers wandering around. We left. Went to Theos. Best lace around with home cooked meals
