Got seated right away, but sat for 36 minutes once our order was taken and never got our food. A couple was seated next to us about 20 minutes after us and ordered double burgers and got their food in a timely manner. Our server said the kitchen was backed up, which is interesting since the other guests got their food. We like Bob's Big Boy generally, but will rethink things before we go back to one.
What's going on here? I looked at the distribution of the ratings and it's so far from what I would have expected. I often wonder if Yelp ratings are lower in general because people come on to yelp about something like a dog having its tail pulled would - basically a gripe. A friend of mine lives a few suburbs south of this Big Boy restaurant, one of two remaining in this metro area. Their customer services is non existent! I was seated and sexed menus and a drink and said I'll be right back 30mins we watched this waitress walk to everyone but us..we got up to leave and she quickly ran to us and said I'm so sorry that's usually not my station of service but yet you served us drinks! Any excuse is better than they say
On August 13, 2020, I went into the restaurant to pickup a takeout order. From past experience, it usually takes much less than 5 minutes. An assistant manager confronted me about not wearing a mask. I explained to him that, per the Governor's mandate, I was exempt due to a health condition. I also explained that my numerous regular tests for the virus were ALL negative. very disappointed in this restaurant. The one on Brookpark Rd which is no food prize either is much closer but its been USUALLY cleaner, neater with better wait staff. Not so last three times we have been there. Today being no exception. Wait staff is slow, no focus on people THEY ARE TAKING ORDERS from, orders come in wrong and COLD, no refills on drinks offered, dessert almost thrown down. had lunch today. service was very good. rose was wonderful. the food was another story. how can you have a classic big boy with no cheese!! the French silk pie...where is the chocolate??? its all whip cream. waste of money for what you can make at home and have to wait for the kitchen. won't come back
Well here we go.. This place isn't exactly the place that I would put on my top to go menu. We walked in while four people were standing around and waited while two of them looked directly at us and said you can get them to another person and then took us to a seat. Overkill on the ketchup and mustard. Everything tasted awful and was cold. I was also cold the whole time. Service was also ridiculously slow, and it wasn't even busy. Will not be returning.
The last 2 times I ordered food to go i was EXTREMELY disappointed...i even went there in person thinking THAT would ensure me a better result....but...it DID NOT...the 1st time around I watched my food sit under the heat lamp for at least 25 minutes until someone packed it up for me...that should have been a red flag right there...but I hoped for the best....WRONG!...this last time was no better...my onion rings were all dried out and my BLT sandwich looked like it was put together by a toddler it was so sloppy.. and ....a... read more
