Ironic that the weight loss center is next door. The food is tasty but not healthy for the most part. This is one of the few places in Hilton Head to serve sweat tea. Hurray! The service is horrible. I finally got up to get my own sweet tea refills. The ambiance looks like the restaurant will go out of business next week. I with they'd have an interior designer overhaul the place and add some music outside. It could be a great golf course lunch place by day and place to gather in the evening.

1/2 star service ... 2 star food ... Way too much money for what you get. Our server made you feel like you were inconveniencing her. Our food was lacking flavor. They didn't seem accommodating to families.

Got Food Poisoning!!!!!! We had lunch at Big Jim's at the beginning of our long awaited holiday. Within hours both my sister and I were violently ill with food poisoning. We had different meals - I had a burger and she had a Chicken Caesar Salad. The burger was very greasy and I didn't eat it all, but the small amount I did eat was enough to make me violently ill for 2 days. I wouldn't suggest the Salmon, Big Jim's pizza , wings, or greens. It was NOT a tasty experience. My beer was good. We ended here b/c Dune House was closed for a private party.

We were the first in on a saturday so i was nervous. However, Molly our server, took great care of us and I would def go back. The chicken nachos were fabulous and each portion was huge. Highly encourage to go

Great experience. Tail end of happy hour. Still we were given 2 rounds at happy hour prices. Friendly staff. Great food. Low country pizza A+ Grouper excellent.

It was empty and I understand why. If you're hungry, don't order the ribs, or grouper. My son sent the ribs back to have them recooked to remove the pink meat and it was obvious the chef was not well versed in preparing ribs. We eat a LOT of ribs out and these were by far the toughest and most tasteless. Although I was told the grouper came from the Gulf, it may have, but it was frozen previously and the chef's skills (or lack thereof) were unable to make it taste unfrozen. Went here for lunch as we needed a place close to the hotel as it was pouring rain. Upon entering, you seat yourself, and we were given menus fairly slowly. I ordered a turkey club, and it took a good 15 minutes to come out. The restaurant was pretty empty--probably about 20% full. The sandwich came out, and the turkey was pink--it was confirmed that this is how it was supposed to be. The sandwich wasn't hot, it was just..eh. Nothing too special. Cole slaw was fine. this was our second trip to big jim's...the first visit was not very good but they were very new and we decided to give them another try...the food is just ok but the service sucks and the wait staff acts as if they are doing you a favor serving you...we will not be going back and that's a shame since a nice family friendly restaurant in the middle of palmetto dunes is just what they need
