Great experience. Tail end of happy hour. Still we were given 2 rounds at happy hour prices. Friendly staff. Great food. Low country pizza A+ Grouper excellent.
It was empty and I understand why. If you're hungry, don't order the ribs, or grouper. My son sent the ribs back to have them recooked to remove the pink meat and it was obvious the chef was not well versed in preparing ribs. We eat a LOT of ribs out and these were by far the toughest and most tasteless. Although I was told the grouper came from the Gulf, it may have, but it was frozen previously and the chef's skills (or lack thereof) were unable to make it taste unfrozen. Went here for lunch as we needed a place close to the hotel as it was pouring rain. Upon entering, you seat yourself, and we were given menus fairly slowly. I ordered a turkey club, and it took a good 15 minutes to come out. The restaurant was pretty empty--probably about 20% full. this was our second trip to big jim's...the first visit was not very good but they were very new and we decided to give them another try...the food is just ok but the service sucks and the wait staff acts as if they are doing you a favor serving you...we will not be going back and that's a shame since a nice family friendly restaurant in the middle of palmetto dunes is just what they need
