As a family, we have been very pleased with how the staff at Birkin Lodge have cared for our elderly father. There always seems to be staff available to help out, even if a short wait is sometimes involved. Father's needs are constantly assessed and updated to meet his declining health. Also very good support from the local hospice who work closely with the home.

The staff are very friendly and make you welcome and ask if you like a cup of tea. Very clean and tidy. I would recommend people to live here when I get old. I would love to come and stay here. Very friendly people and staff.

I think the staff at the home do their best to make the residents lives as enjoyable as possible given the ongoing health problems they may have. Birkin Lodge Care Home has had difficulty in retaining a manager over the last year or so but the present incumbent seems to have settled in well. I think as is probably the case with a lot of care homes that you could do with more staff especially at weekends.

You have too many people coming and going in charge. Not good for the residents.
