Birkin Lodge is, overall, a very good care home for its residents. The carers are genuinely supportive of the residents and make sure their needs are met. Food and drink are of high quality. The tea round staff are friendly and efficient.

My Dad has been a resident here since May 2018. Since day one he has been made to feel totally at home. The staff are very caring and Dad has built up some good relationships with most of the staff. If we have had any issues with any aspect of his care, they have been dealt with very quickly, usually by the deputy manager.

Every time I visit the home, always met with warm hellos and a friendly atmosphere. The staff are always friendly in a professional way. The home is always clean and tidy, checked mother's room and found it is very clean. The home has always had a friendly and caring atmosphere, have not had any cause to raise any issues.

My mother came to Birkin Lodge a year ago in a very poor state, underweight and confused. Within a few weeks, she had stabilised and began putting on weight. The staff were wonderful for the care and attention they gave her. Her clothes are so clean and fresh when I see he and attention is given to what she wears. This was a detail I particularly liked as it showed attention was given to detail. Since coming to this care home, my friend has been made to feel very welcome. The staff are very caring and always find time to listen. With daily entertainment/activities, you can join in as much as you want to or are able to. As a once a week visitor, I always feel the staff are trying to make it a home from home for each resident. I enjoy coming to see my friend and I don't feel I am in the way (as I have felt in other care homes). Keep up the good work.

My father has been at Birkin Lodge for a month now. He suffers from dementia and Parkinsons and can become very confused sometimes and difficult to manage. The staff have been fantastic, they are always so kind and happy. Nothing seems to be too much trouble and they spend time to reassure him when he is confused. They always make us feel very welcome.

My husband is treated with kindness and compassion by all the staff. They are always happy and laughing. When I visit, I'm made to feel welcome and am always offered a cup of coffee. I don't think I would get better treatment anywhere.
