We decided to stop at a diner on Route 66. This place had humongous portions and wonderful food. We had pancakes, bacon, grits, hash browns, eggs and LOVED it all. The decor is fun with a "bear" theme and the waitress was extremely professional and d fast! This is a great spot to get a warm and filling meal that makes you feel like you were at your grandma's because it's just that yummy!
Great food. Great service. Great location We stayed at the best Western nearby. We ordered dinner to go. We also ordered lunch to go to take with us to palo duro st park. They had everything we needed and preferred it over the other local Options.
Excellent food and service. Will plan to stop here again every time I drive this route HWY 40. Beautiful rustic decor as well like the inside of a northern log cabin
I had the bacon cheeseburger salad and it was amazing! Homemade thousand island dressing was so good with it. My husband had the cheeseburger and 30/70 iced tea. Our wonderful waitress nicknamed him 30/70!!!
The food was excellent. Too many low rating restaurants around town so I had to try this one. Definitely was worth it for the huge portion burgers. Manuel was a great server. He was everywhere!
This was our second visit to this location and I was very hesitant to try it again as our first visit wasn't the best. However I've discovered it's all in what you order. Upon entering we were greeted and given the choice of where we wanted to sit. We chose a booth. Which was a little broken but that was ok. The beautiful bear decor and woodwork makes up for it. We ordered a unsweetened tea and a half sweet half unsweetened tea. Their sweet tea is southern sweet for sure. I enjoyed the unsweetened tea with a little Splend... read more
Really great food at reasonable price with exceptional service. Always enjoy coming here
We were long distance traveling, the food was very good, large portions, very friendly service. When we travel, I will look for more restaurants in this chain. Very relaxing casual atmosphere, very friendly staff
Passed through Amarillo during a recent road trip. I'll admit I was out of my element, but Black Bear Diner was a name I recognized so I went for it. I didn't actually dine in and just ordered takeout, but the quality of the food and the service was great! I was a little bummed they didn't have my favorite chicken & waffles that day, but what I got instead was still pretty good. I'd probably try them again if I were in the same area.
