Service was excellent, food was just average. Prices were way too high. Biscuits gravy, hash browns, 2 strips bacon, coffee almost $20 . Maybe the high prices are due to the lettuce leaf and orange slice garnish. Go to Waffle House, food is better for about half price.

went for diner 12/26. seated fast but there was chaos with the staff. the manager seems lost the entire evening. food plates were stacking up under the hotlamps while servers walked around clueless. while there, 9 tables of people got fed up and walked out before their food came. some servers were surprised their tables left but if they had come around to check on their tables they would have been given an earfull. a table of 9 finally walked out and the main chef came out and was furious with the servers because they had no... read more

Sorry, can't do more than 1 star. Ordered the Grizzly and was disappointed with the entire meal. Ordered eggs over easy, then came well done. Complained. Waitress said she could see yolk, so they were soft. Huh?? She argued with me, but finally said she would replace them. Too late. Second, the gravy was overly processed. It stuck to my lips like glue. Potatoes were seasonless and undercooked. Biscuits were huge, but again, no taste and hard like big rocks. Chicken fry was prefrozen and prebreaded. Gag. Not a good experience. We will have to try it out again once they get their staffing sorted or a good system going. My husband sat for 10 minutes with no waitress and then 5 minutes later when I joined in they got our drink order. It took 50 minutes to receive our food. Everyone around us was very visibly and verbally upset about the amount of time it took for drinks and food. Assuming 3 is average, Black Bear was below average today. I hope they can work out some kinks soon. I went in alone and sat at the counter. This gave me an interesting perspective that I was not expecting. Service was very slow. It was after the lunch hour so it wasn't a peak time. As I sat there I watched the food line working. They'd throw a plate up and people on the line would grab hot baggies of food that were on the plate and dump them out on to the plate. (Usually the sides) It all looked very unappetizing.
