Sorry, can't do more than 1 star. Ordered the Grizzly and was disappointed with the entire meal. Ordered eggs over easy, then came well done. Complained. Waitress said she could see yolk, so they were soft. Huh?? She argued with me, but finally said she would replace them. Too late. Second, the gravy was overly processed. It stuck to my lips like glue. Potatoes were seasonless and undercooked. Biscuits were huge, but again, no taste and hard like big rocks. Chicken fry was prefrozen and prebreaded. Gag. Not a good experience. We will have to try it out again once they get their staffing sorted or a good system going. My husband sat for 10 minutes with no waitress and then 5 minutes later when I joined in they got our drink order. It took 50 minutes to receive our food. Everyone around us was very visibly and verbally upset about the amount of time it took for drinks and food. The waitresses didn't greet or introduce themselves either it was just a "what would you like to drink". The table next to us even walked out after no... read more

Assuming 3 is average, Black Bear was below average today. I hope they can work out some kinks soon. I went in alone and sat at the counter. This gave me an interesting perspective that I was not expecting. Service was very slow. It was after the lunch hour so it wasn't a peak time. As I sat there I watched the food line working. They'd throw a plate up and people on the line would grab hot baggies of food that were on the plate and dump them out on to the plate. (Usually the sides) It all looked very unappetizing. I was so looking forward to trying their food. What a disappointment, Chicken and Waffles were tasteless and chicken way over breaded. Sweet potato fried fries were a soggy mess. Turkey was ok but nothing you can't get anywhere. Bread pudding was thick, bland and dry even with the "shot glass" of caramel nut stuff. Another ho hum Burleson restaurant.
