I ordered via DoorDash to try this place. I've got friends in Dallas who love this chain so thought I would try it. 100% disappointed. I'm born and raised in Texas so I know what good chicken fried steak is, and what we got wasn't it. It's clearly precooked frozen food thrown into a kitchen fryer. It was completely tasteless and the "cream" gravy, was also clearly from a mix and watery. Very cute place. But....Horrible!!! Won't be going back. We went at lunch in a Saturday. They got us right in. It took forever for us to get anyone over to get us drinks. And no it wasn't busy. So then our actual server comes to take our food order. My husband gets the CFS, mashed potatoes and gravy and green beans. I got eggs, sausage and biscuit. First off my husband said his CFS came from Grandy's. Tasted the exact same. And the rest of his food had no taste. Now my food was horrible. The eggs were rubber and I don't kn... read more

Went in to pickup a couple of Almond Bear Claws to share with my family. They haven't tried Black Bear yet. Get home cut one open it's Black Berry. I thot ok he gave me one of each. Cut the other one it's the same. I'll be taking them back in this morning May have an update on this.

Went to the Black Bear Diner for dinner. It was early about 5:30. The restaurant wasn't crowded and we were seated right away. The place was clean. The service was decent, not great but she was friendly. The food...It literally had no taste. It was terribly bland. We ordered an assortment of things. The salad had cold lettuce, but they only had bacon ranch dressing which was just a little odd and I live both bacon and ranch. Daughter got the pesto pasta.
