4/7/2023 I always take the side of the customer versus the cook when something(s) need severe attention specially food. We returned one more time to Black Bear Diner to try their Friday All You Can Eat Fish, since this Easter Friday bans meat, and I have developed a certain kind of respect for the tradition. It took a full 30+ minutes for an overdone breakfast to be served when there were very few people in the diner. Burned hash browns and bacon, dried out french toast and $43 for 2 people. Save your money and taste buds.

So we got here at 11:40 and it's now 12:26 and we still haven't got our food I will never eat here again unless I'm dragged here! This is not the first time this has happened! I really like the black bear diner but not in Chico ca update everyone that came in after us got their food before us we still have not got our food we just walked out I believe they are racist!!!

I went to the Bear diner on a saturday -- my friend and i both ordered soup and 1/2 sandwich. There was only one soup available to choose , so thats what we got -- chicken noodle soup that looked like and tasted like it was right out of the can! Lots of broth , 2 noodles, 3 carrots and one piece of chicken. My roommate makes better soup! Long wait time for food. Food didn't come out at the same time, so there was additional wait times between our family getting their meals. Some food came out cold, so had to send things back. Many things were forgotten that we needed to ask for. Overall things were over priced. Will not return.

If I could have given them no stars I would have. The orders weren't right. Our food tasted old and cold. We couldn't believe it was that hard to make the food we ordered since it's pretty basic. We will never go back there again

The food took forever, and when we finally got it, it was soggy. The waiter never checked in on us, or gave us an idea of when our food would be out. The place was not even that full. It's all about customer service! Don't make your customers feel invisible!! Make EYE contact with your patrons, it makes it easier to deal with them waiting.
