Our waitress, Sami, was AMAZING! She made the whole experience for our dinner out great and took care of us from the moment we walked in the door to the moment we left!

This was our first time at Black Bear-Chico. As you already know, it's difficult to spend money and have a horrible experience with service no matter how good the food is. And if your like me, you've experienced the difficult balance that restaurant owners face with acquiring employees and keeping employees during and after Covid. Super yummy food! Pretty pricey but great for sharing I recommend the huckleberry lemonade & milkshake!
Has some "opening" hiccups. We enjoyed the Redding location and Gridley locations so couldnt wait! But WAIT we did! Took forever to be seated and we were only two waiting and the restaurant was not even half full. Took 25 mins to get food at lunch, and it was cold. We will try again but were very disappointed in both quality and inflated prices
Hi had a craving for coconut cream pie, so I thought I better call and make sure they have it before heading there. Very happy she said there were 2 pieces available Yay! I let her know we were almost there if she could put them aside. She said oh yeah. Well we get here and guess what? No coconut cream pie no one new who I spoke to and I didn't get a name (my bad). Second time visiting Chico location. First time some of our breakfast items were not very good. Not up to the Black Bear standard. This time the server forgot several items that went with our meals. It was a slow process to get everything we ordered. For a $46 breakfast for 2, we will eat at home. I'm terribly disappointed as we've been to many Black Bears throughout California and Nevada but this one just doesn't cut the mustard...yet! Still hoping.
