I've been to other Black Bear Diners that were better. Service was good, it was a busy Saturday morning. The layout of having the cashier and the check in hostess right next to each other is a bad idea. Too many people in that area. The food was meh. Might try it for lunch sometime but we will stick with are normal breakfast spot.
Our order didn't all arrive at the same time, only three of us....my sister and I ordered the special, I just asked that my eggs made separate and over easy, my sisters tri tip was rare/medium, probably because they cooked it all together and stopped when the eggs were done.....then when she brought our ticket she explained she gave ours to another table that paid it already, so they gave us their ticket and adjusted it down $5 to make up the difference......$49.....WRONG, $10 over wrong, so my sister got her "oh no they di... read more
1st time there. Will never go back. Service was ok. Food was horrible. The people I was with have been there before and thought they would give this place a try again. They were not happy with the food either. How can you screw up scrambled eggs? Hummm
Ok, first time patron. My husband and I tried it out for lunch. We were seated in the front dining room, which seemed a bit cramped. Our waitress was a lovely, friendly young lady. Our only problem with this visit was the food. We ordered hamburgers, since that's what we craved. I asked for no Thousand Island on mine. When I recieved it, I thought they had forgotten. Turns out, the edge of my bun had it since they had just wiped it off instead of giving me a new bun. Our waitress was very apologetic, offered to fix it. No pr... read more

Second trip to Black Bear. The first time although the veg had more pepper than I can tolerate and was not offered an alternate. Second visit, my husband had the chicken pot pie and discovered huge pieces of uncut chicken in it making it difficult to eat. Also the french fries were not cooked properly as they came out limp and lack luster. I had the fish and chips and could have gotten same results staying home and opening a box of frozen fish. I ate two pieces of the fish as it was late and I was hungry.I could be wrong... read more
I think the corner table they gave us was cursed! I was using my birthday breakfast coupon, ordered our meal, found no ketchup, nor salt and pepper at table, and my coffee had to be replaced as I used Stivia which was all that was available to use. Then my husbands chorizo was undercooked, so they gave him an extra egg. The staff was great - everything you had to laugh at. Will go again, but not at that table - lol!
