Its okay, but it certainly does not measure up to the huge build up. Yes, the portions are huge, actually far too big because it goes to waste. Secondly it seriously needs more seasoning. Its very safe food for the masses, but I don't think it's anything special. Seems okay place to stop for breakfast, and the ingredients are fresh and seem to be a fairly good quality. My wife and have always gone to the Rocklin location. Usually had a pretty positive experience. We live right next to the new location off Madison and Sunrise so we decided to give it a try. On a Thursday mid evening. It didn't appear to be terribly busy. So the 20 minute wait to be seated seemed a little unnecessary. Either way. I expect to wait at a "sit down" style restaurant so that's fine. When we finally were seated it took a good 15-20 minutes before a server even acknowledged us. I have looked forward to visiting the local store after stopping at ones along Highway 5. I was so disappointed in the quality of the food. Makes me think twice. Brought my granddaughter with me, her first time... Nah, won't be going back anytime soon.

I've been to other Black Bear Diners and have always had great experiences. This new store left me underwhelmed. I ordered breakfast and my eggs over medium. When I got them they had a crisp white all around them and the yolks were pretty much cooked to hard. My sister's hamburger was fine and the service was very good. We did come at an off time though. I think the cooks need a refresher on eggs. I did not send my food back as it was a minor point. I will try again and if I have eggs next time, I will be very specific about... read more

Food was very good, service not so. There were more people than the staff could handle. After receiving our order we never saw the waiteress again nor a refill.
