Food always good, service usually great. However, tonight was a different story. We got there and place was empty, order was taken, drinks served waitress (Sarah) must have forgot she had customers. A staff person with money in hands served our meal, and nobody ever came to refill our drinks until we had our last bite in hand. Then offered to go drinks. Entered your restaurant at 10:15 AM...... for breakfast. Waitress was very nice and friendly....she brought our coffee, juice & milk immediately. Had to ask for water. We ordered our breakfast and were FINALLY served at 11:30. ( In the meantime had to ask for refills on the coffee and were told that you were short of cooks and would be served in a few minutes.) The food was average. When we walked up to the diner the garbage can out front was over flowing. We asked for a booster seat that never arrived. We had to ask for spoons to stir our coffee. The waitress was pleasant, but I feel was serving too many people so refills were slow as well as service.
I was so excited when I heard that Black Bear Diner was coming to Great Falls, Montana. I had visited several locations in California and Nevada and enjoyed the food and atmosphere. That's not been my experience in Great Falls and I think my last visit to this location was today. The diner was nearly empty. Loved Black bear diner!
We went for Mothers day Breakfast, we got there at 8:30 am on Sunday. There was no line there was not alot of people. We did not get our food until 10:00!!!! Our order was taken at about 8:45, we were about to walk out when our food showed up. My sister in law asked for hot water 3 times and they put a tea bag in the hot water each time. The Diner is a very comfortable, relaxing place to eat. Love the atmosphere. The people are very accommodating, very nice. The food portions are large as stated, but if it isn't good it doesn't matter how much you get. I ordered the breakfast special which was a breakfast croissant with choice of potato. I chose hasbrowns. My wife ordered a waffle meal. When the food came it looked delicious and I couldn't wait to dig in. I started with the hashbrowns and they were cold and mushy. Worst food I have ever been served. The Black Bear Diner needs quality conrol by the head office. The restaurant is dirty, servers unpresentable and food is horendous. Have eaten at 2 other Black Bear Diners and they were great. Have traveled extensively throughout the United States and todays breakfast was not fit. Did not complain to waitress, decided to go directly to the owners. Please check your restaurant out, it makes your company look really bad. my salad on top the window for 18 min. waiting for my wife's food to get prepaired. was delivered burnt and cold. sent back to kitchen and was returned more burnt and was full on onions that told waitress no onions. the burger was chopped up and charred black could not eat salad do to meat and onions. told waitress about all that went on she didn't even care just took are money and left. this is the second time for same issues in food preparation poor service ….
