Order the build your own bear lol ong the biscuit and gravy was so huge definitely worth every penny I also for got to bring cash so I gave my waitress a new bottle of fenty I had

They act like they had no idea there would be customers today! No one to greet you & the ordering, & food delivery was about 20 minutes lagging what is normal & it was pretty empty around lunch hour. Major staffing issues at this spot. People were flagging down anyone to pay & leave and still not getting noticed. They get 3 stars cause the breakfast had flavor! Big portions & tasted fresh!

Happy to report that the Black Bear Diner was once again well staffed. The table tops/counter tops were all clean and cleared. The floors and carpets were also neat & tidy clean both behind the counter area and the entire rest of the premises. My order was prepared as ordered and was very good ! Thank you Black Bear Diner ! 5 * * * * * !

For good quality and quantity and very large selection this is the place. Not a Mexican restaurant. Huge biscuits. Prime rib on the weekend menu. Join the club and receive a free breakfast/meal for your birthday. 2 locations in San Antonio so far and a new location in New Braunfels. Lite version is available.smaller size.

We have been to this relatively new Black Bear three times since it opened. The food each time has been excellent and the ambiance is cute. It is located in a truck stop, but it is a separate part of it. The only thing about it is that they are woefully understaffed and the waitresses are forced to bus their own tables. The kitchen wait times are kind of long too. Even though they are understaffed, everyone is extremely friendly so it is worth the wait!

An amazing breakfast! Big portions of delicious food, I had the 2 egg with chicken fried steak, red potatoes a biscuit and a side of corned beef hash. This is first time I remember bringing home leftovers from breakfast! Nice to have second breakfast The service was excellent as well, I will be back

First of all our server was great made suggestions when I asked and just kept checking in and was right on top of things. The menu is ENORMOUS, there is something for everyone here! The food is on point, brought me back to the NY diner vibe with an outdoorsy twist. Can we just talk about the biscuits, be prepared they are the size of your head with a butter drizzle. We are here visiting and I am SO glad we found this little place. The menu is huge, there's something for everyone, and the service is efficient and friendly. It seems to be a great spot for regulars, truckers, and out-of-town guests. Great music, super clean and some open space!
