Great friendly service. Food excellent and large portions for the price. Blueberry pancakes were huge and fluffy. FYI there are 3 sizes of pancakes! A must try.

Busy location, restaurant is part of the TA Travel Center. Parking lot a little difficult to navigate with lots of car and big truck traffic. Bathrooms are shared with travel center, Popeyes, Subway, etc. Food portions are generous, large in fact. Coffee good and infrequently refilled. Servers seem overwhelmed and we heard at least two telling customers that they were backed up and dealing with a slow kitchen. Fortunately, it was Sunday morning and nothing pressing on the agenda, so the wait wasn't a big problem but defini... read more

I was a little skeptical because it is a diner attached to a truck stop, but the food is reasonably priced, it is clean, the staff is friendly, and the food tastes really good. The kids menu is priced very good.

Service was ok very slow at best. The food was ok. I guess I was reliving memories from California :( I had breakfast for dinner the pancakes were as I remember very Tasty! If only the service was better I would have given this place better ratings.

I've always enjoyed having an opportunity to stop and eat at a Black Bear Diner! It's so nice now having one up the street from my house! Today I stopped and grabbed, to go,their famous bread pudding! I've been wanting to try it forever! I brought it home and threw it in the oven and warmed it up a bit. The smell was intoxicating! Warm sugar and vanilla filled my house! It was absolutely perfect! Some of the best bread pudding I've ever had! It had the perfect amount of raisins sprinkled on top so it's not mixed in. The cara... read more

This restaurant attaches to the TA Travel Center just north of new Braunfels on IH-35 so we were really surprised to find such a nice diner and dining experience attached. It is brand new, is uniquely decorated, has excellent food at reasonable prices and a wait staff that is friendly and punctual. The portions are huge and I just can't say enough good things about it. We live about 25 miles north of this location and will definitely be back visiting it many more times in the future. Highly recommended.
