In 1995 founders Bruce Dean and Bob & Laurie Manley opened the first Black Bear Diner in Mt. Shasta, CA. Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Clean restaurant and excellent service plus, generous portions in restaurant. I do not recommend delivery because order arrived with such small servings it looked like kid portions. Refund issued but inconvenient to go out for food after wasting so much time on delivery order.
The service was slow. Ordered the Grizz which arrived with visible hair in the food (Gross!) returned the plate not wanting anything at this point. We will not be returning this location.

Service was adequate, but slow. I had to wait several minutes for service. Then i had to ask for a refill on tea. An attentive staff would have offered. Mind you, the restaurant was less than a 1/3 full and seemed, if anything, over staffed. No complaining that they were slammed and doing their best. They just weren't very good. I do not like the newspaper design of the menu. It was barely legible. Choices are extremely limited. It's almost like going to Denny's. They seem to focus on breakfast. Ordered a delivery from here. Very disappointed! Waffles with no butter or syrup and no utensils! Called and was told it has to be ordered separately! Never again.
