I've been wanting to eat here for a long time. On a Friday night modest crowd of patrons and attentive and cordial wait staff. I had the meatloaf dinner with salad and mashed potatoes and corn on the cob. The meatloaf was wholesome and filling along with the mashed potatoes and gravy. Added bonus was the two fried onion rings. I ordered unsweetened tea and our server made a fresh batch because the other was too weak she said. Anyway you'll like the atmosphere and cleanliness and the "bear" experience. I'll be back. Oh and pa... read more

My husband and I were looking for a different eat out breakfast spot this morning and decided on Black Bear because we had eaten at their locations in Northern California a few times. We both had the mini Volcano breakfast (2 pancakes, 1 egg, 1 sausage link and one slice bacon). My over easy egg was overcooked, but passable. Scrambled egg on hubbys plate looked better... not over cooked. Pancakes were a little doughier than we like, but ok. Sausage and bacon were quite good. What we really liked about this particular locat... read more

Their meatloaf meal is delicious. Comes with a choice of sides, but I get salad, mashed potatoes, gravy, steamed vegetables and a cornbread muffin. The dinner size is enough for two people. They also have a smaller size order, maybe it's called a half order. Looks like they have new hours too. 8am-8pm.

Classic Eggs Benedict was a smash. The biscuits and gravy, not so much. The biscuit/gravy ratio was completely off, even after ordering extra sides of gravy. Service was excellent. Booth normal, cleanliness was good from what I experienced. I would come here again.

Being new to the area has had me a bit cautious to try out an unknown mom and pop restaurant. I'm sure there are good ones out there to discover and eventually will but I wanted something familiar. Familiar is what we got. The food was pretty tasty. I went for the California Burger and fries which was spot on. The service was good. Plenty of parking. We even took home a cobbler to enjoy later. Not a bad little diner for a night you want to get away from cooking at home. Only reason for not being a 5, is its a typical chain f... read more
