Their mission was simple: create a fun and friendly atmosphere where the local community could enjoy huge portions of home-style cooking at a reasonable price. Today, we continue their mission at every Black Bear Diner across the country, as we passionately provide guests an outstanding experience. Black Bear Diners are nothing if not consistent. The food is the same so I have never been disappointed or wowed. It is a great place for a family get together or for a quick bite to eat. The prices are reasonable and the all day breakfast menu is ideal for my fiancé.

Good food good eat service different menu items and the regular specials too. Yummy pies to take home. We had no problem parking seated quickly. Big portions and great prices.

I am visiting Portland and I wanted to eat a delicious breakfast . I see a Black Bear diner near my hotel and got excited. I cam here and the service here was NOT what I expected. Black Bear Diner in Layton UT was much much better and they were twice as busy. I had to wait almost 15 mins before I got serviced. The waiter was condescending and kind of rude. He brought my food with no expression. I felt like I was inconvenienced. When he brought the check, there was no "thank you" "anything else" "have a good day." He... read more

It's not gourmet but it's filling as all get out and reasonably priced. Place fairly empty at 12:30. Service real friendly and the good came very quickly. Went with the bear's choice, choose egg style, meat and bread. I love biscuits and gravy, and the ones here are HUGE and fairly dry. There's never enough gravy, and moreso here given the size of the biscuits. Gravy and sausage tasty, eggs done the way I like them.

During my trip to Portland I wanted to make sure I ate at as many places as possible while there. After a quick search on Yelp I came across the Black Bear Diner's menu and I was sold immediately. Upon arriving around 10AM I noticed that they have tons of parking and I would later find out why. The restaurant wasn't packed but it wasn't empty either so we were able to be seated soon as we walked in. I started with an orange juice and when I tell you that they have the best pulp orange juice I've ever had. It's like they li... read more
