I always attempt to find a Black Bear Diner on Fri nites for the All-U-Can eat fish!! I didn't end up doin that, but I did go in for breakfast this morning!! Immediately greeted & seated! Nice seats at the bar seating w/sayings engraved on the backs of the seats!! Food was cooked well, hot & fresh!! Biscuit could have used a bit more gravy, wasn't enuf for how big the biscuit was!! Great comfort food, great and prompt service! I this this restaurant was once the iorn skillet!! Seating is plentiful and comfortable!
Down Home Family dining at its best. Great food, reasonable prices, great service. Don't forget to get a family photo posed with the carved wooden bears everywhere!
Best breakfast in SA hands down! Huge portions and damn good prices. Inside Petro truck stop. Well worth the trip!!
Excellent food, large portions, great service. You would receive a 5 rating but for the two times I have been to this location and ordered grits. I've had to send them back each time to reheat as they have been dry and cold. No problems at the City Base location that always has "creamy grits" as advertised. Everything else has been excellent. I will give you a "5" if the grits improve next time I am here. Maybe the cooks here are not aware of the "creamy" texture the grits are supposed to have. Time for management to step up... read more

Awesome breakfast and great conversations with some truckers. Ive always loved this diner and had to hit it up for the first time in 10 years. Food prices are great, service was perfect, and the food was awesome. This is not gourmet, its just damn good diner food.
They are busy! So expect to have a short wait to get a table. Once seated waitress was right there to take our order. Even as busy as it was it didn't take long for her to bring out our food and it was hot and fresh. We've loved the bear since going to it out west and so happy they have them here now.
Ooooweee is this place delicious. The location will throw you off because it's inside a truck stop off the interstate. I think this add charm. I came during the middle of the week and this diner keeps a crowd for a reason. I came with my aunt for brunch and we left satisfied. Serving sizes are massive and great quality. I had the scrambowl and aunty had the omelette. Biscuits are the size of half the plate! We will be back.
