I really enjoyed my experience at Black Bear Diner. You must try the loaded grits! Amazing! Next time, I'll try the lunch/dinner options.

Food was great and there was an older gentleman who was the host and was very nice! He made sure you felt comfortable and only gave recommendations if you cared to hear them. Food is a very generous portion. Only downside is that it was attached to a small truck store. Other than that...the food and service was amazing.

This place has shockingly good food and stellar service. This diner is the real deal! The servers are incredibly friendly ( shout out to Christina our server). The food was plentiful. They have the best grits in San Antonio, perfectly seasoned and correct consistency-heaven! The biscuit and gravy are HUGE, the gravy also well seasoned and the biscuit was perfectly baked. I love the ambiance and the total commitment to the "Bear" theme. The portion sizes were large, we did not leave hungry still. The coffee was great and bottomless. We had a lovely server. This is an excellent diner and truly a "diner" which is rare to find in a city and in 2023. We will definitely be back.

great food, good menu selection and excellent customer service , friendly smiles and great attitudes. best service since moving here to san antonio. will definitely come back and this just be my go to place for breakfast. and will have to try the friday fish fry

Black Bear never disappoints. The food is always fresh. The portions are big. The biscuits are huge. Our server this time around was Jennifer. She was courteous and friendly. Our drinks were never empty and she checked on us often. I order French toast on this order. Though they were good, I'll stick with the waffle (it's the best).

Delicious fluffy sweet cream pancakes! Sizable portion for the price. Never could clean a plate here.
