Our family loves Black Bear Diner, except, the customer service has been subpar now for the last 4-5 times we have been there. This stems from the manager down. On average, we spend $50-60 every time we go and have had less than stellar experiences at the Sandy location for the last 4-5 times. After visiting some friends I selected Black Bear Diner to have dinner at before I go back to CA. I have previously been to the Sandy, UT location and had a good experience. Tonight that store was not on their game. We were a party of 8. They placed two 4 top tables together. The tables were so unlevel that at the midpoint there was a 3-inch gap in height between the tables. Ordering went fine. I ordered Black Bear via DoorDash and over half my order was incorrect or missing. I even received frozen potato salad. DoorDash issued a refund however this did not account for many side items that were wrong, missing, or frozen. Calling the location, they took 0 responsibility and claimed the DoorDash should have checked the bag. I agree, however DoorDash did not prepare or package that bag! Waited an hour for my apple pie because they brought out pie that was frozen. Very disappointed then they warmed up my apple pie and it was too hot where they had to place in a bowl
I want to start by saying that the food here is amazing. I love everything you make. However, we had a less than desirable visit tonight and I thought you should know about it. We arrived at approx. 6 p.m. on a Friday evening. It was moderately busy. We waited at the front for 20 minutes before being seated. The food is always delicious which is why we were customers. The last time we ate at the Black Bear Diner in Sandy, Utah the service was so slow. It was frustrating and deterred us from going back. We needed to eat, we love black bear diner. We stopped in to grab a bite after leaving hospital. At 915pm cooks in back turned up Spanish music loud while we could see them eating,employees at the bar drinking coffee and chatting. Girl at counter rolling napkins with a drink and someone tossed food to her in plastic. No toilet paper in women's bathroom. This was a joke tonite a rude server Lauren 20 minutes and still no water. We walked out after the server told the table behind us. When she walked out some toast. You probably dont need this now but I will leave it anyways your paying for it. We are there at least once a week and usually love this place
We came into the restaurant at 12.33pm. After waitng for about 5 minutes the hostess took our name. There was one couple ahead of us. She said 15 minute wait.
