If you love a good diner, breakfast Black bear diner is always a place to go... I didn't know there was one in Tarzana. I usually go to the ones up north. Our server Manuel was amazing. Portions are massive. You could probably share a breakfast. It just felt like a neighborhood diner.

I want to give a big shout out to my server Malina. I ordered the Grizz my eggs were on point. She had the best smile and warmest welcome that I've ever experienced at a family dining restaurant. She told me the cook Juan's name he made my food to perfection I will definitely be back.

I never get tired of Black Bear. Their food is consistently good, I love their chicken fried steak dinner. Although I like the pesto salmon more and more. Add a salad or soup and it will fill you up. Alex, Manny, and CiCi are great to work with. They're always fast with the refills and are super friendly to work with. Also, their chocolate cream pie is delicious. Lastly, I love the old school jukebox. Hear some great old school tunes on there, I heard "Vehicle" by the Ides of March and I hadn't heard that in years. Thanks ... read more

Black Bear Diner is a cozy place, made even cozier by their experienced and friendly staff. The entry way already looks like a mountain lodge, and no worries if your kids forgot their teddy bears because they have super cute plush bears and more for sale. They make their biscuits from scratch, and when I asked our server what else was made from scratch she answered that they made pretty everything on site. Awesome! I've had their breakfasts which were delicious. I asked for the bacon crispy and it was sooo good. This time I ... read more

Large menu with MANY selections and Good size portions! The downside is at $18 for breakfast the prices aren't cheap for average food. I would prefer going to Denny's. I feel OLD at 59, almost 60. But half the songs they played were before I was born! So I guess there target markets is folks 70+?

My partner and I have been coming regularly over the past year and this location has quickly become one of our favorite places to grab a bite. The staff are amazing and SO friendly, the food portions are HUGE and always consistently tasty and the atmosphere is super cozy. Tonight our waitress Melena in particular who we've had before went out of her way to make us comfortable and always provides a warm and positive dining experience.

Black bear Diner is definitely a great place to have good time with family for Breakfast or Dinner. Food is great but the best part of this location is the staff working here. A special thanks to server Alex that always goes the extra mile to make our visit feel like we are at home.

Our first time at this diner for breakfast and it didn't disappoint. Holidays are always busy but our server made sure that we didn't have to wait that long. My French toast was delish with added fresh strawberries on top and a side of eggs and coffee. I highly recommend it!
