Just had a great meal at BlackBear, food was delicious, service was great and it seems like they lowered some prices and are having specials to compete with Applebees in town. This location has a potential to be a standout dinner, give them a try
Rating is based on a to go order. This place was fantastic! I ordered the chicken fried steak. Portions were large, and the food was very good. First time in a long time I haven't been disappointed in my meal. The star of the meal was the bear claw. The cashier said they make them fresh. Boy, was it delicious. This wasn't your typical stale pastry. It was still warm when we got it. I'm glad I don't live close. I'd weigh a thousand pounds if I did. Will be back.
Sherry was extremely lovely( 5 stars for her). It was a busy morning and she was attentive, communicative and kind. Also, great portion sizes and environment.
Server was very nice. Had a nice smile. Attentive. Food was nicely presented. Everything tasted good except the melon was not ripe at all. Also no syrup was served with the French toast. And my husband ordered my bacon but he got sausage. And the Bear Claw had jam in it, not the expected almond paste. But I love this place and we don't like to complain so we didn't. Just mentioning here so corrections can be considered.

My wife and I recently dined at The Black Bear Diner in Yucca Valley, California, and we wanted to share our review. This popular spot is a definite favorite for our family, known for its hearty, home-style American comfort food and a welcoming, rustic atmosphere. We truly look forward to coming here whenever we're in the area! Upon entering, you're immediately greeted by the diner's distinctive cabin-like decor, complete with wooden accents, bear-themed artwork, and a generally cozy vibe. It's a comfortable setting that's ... read more
