After my father's death in January 2018, my mother (who was then 91) struggled at home due to progressive Alzheimer's and deteriorating mobility. Bluebird Care initially provided a daily tea-time visit which was extremely helpful and reassuring as I lived 90 miles away. Initially Mum just needed a weekly visit, which became four visits a week, which became twice daily visits. Some help with shopping, companionship, light household duties - but most importantly, a friendly and sympathetic visit each and every time, from Bluebird staff that genuinely always had her best interests at heart. We needed to provide daily domiciliary care (that quickly morphed into live-in care) for our father, who has various health challenges and our mother, who had just had a stroke. When caring for my mother, with highly complex needs, became too much for me single-handed, it was such a relief to hand over her morning routine to the lovely carers from the Bluebird Witney team. They would arrive on time each morning, with friendly, cheerful conversation and encouragement, and complete the required tasks efficiently and respectfully. My husband received excellent service in every way from Bluebird and the carers were caring and first class.
I have been impressed and touched in equal measure by the kindness and professionalism shown to my mother by the Bluebird team. She was a very reluctant client and had the team not been so good-humoured, so sensitive to her needs and so 'human' in their response to her, she would never have agreed to accept care. As it was, 'Bluebird' became a source of great comfort for her and peace of mind for me. I cannot thank each and every one of them enough.
The staff are friendly and try to help in every way they can. They never make you feel bad about your illness and needing help.
Bluebird Care has been looking after an elderly lady for whom I have a Power of Attorney (financial and property) for twenty-one months, during which time their care and attention for her has always been of the highest standard. The individual carers are second to none in their field. Their humanity deserves the highest praise and admiration. Members of the office staff, back at base, cannot be faulted. They make everything run so smoothly and any enquiries are dealt with most efficiently. A big thank you to Bluebird Care.
It takes a great character to help people to take care of themselves and I can say that Bluebird has this attitude in abundance. I never expected to need a carer at my age; it was of great concern to me that I would feel demoralised in having someone coming into my home to help me.
