I was shopping for a new BMW. Now I live an hour away and had been talking with them on the phone about my new vehicle purchase. I was planning on coming in and leaving with a vehicle the same day. I am more than a little dissappointed with this dealer... I currently own 2 BMWs and several other cars. I have owned 11 BMWs since 1976. I've been looking for a 535XI and higher miles does not worry me much if the car is close to flawless. I don't mind driving or flying someplace to pick up the right car and have done this several times. They had a high mileage (109k) 2008 535XI listed at Dave Walter BMW for $18,985, which is about average for a car with these miles. Horrible service on our 2011 Z4 and the manager was not helpful. We own 3 businesses and 2 Tacbobells and KFCs so we know how customer service should be. They way the treat you is horrible. They also charge you for gas in their loaner cars and bring back your tank empty. Which luxury car company does that? We own a 2013 Mercedes-Benz CLS550, and their costumer service is excellent. I worked most of my deal over the internet which was more convenient to me because I work many hours. When I went to the dealer my sales rep,Eric,Had another customer so David started my procedures so I wouldn't have to wait. I usually do not say anything if I have nothing nice to say, however, the floor mat issue (discussed below) was the last straw. When taking delivery of our new car, a 328i XDrive sedan, the salesman failed to set (or even offer to set) most of the options we purchased. For instance, the turn signal function (tap once and in blinks three times) was not set up. The doors automatically locking function (doors lock when transmission put in drive) was not set. Misleading as to vehicle condition for an out of state sale. Vehicle missing advertised item. Condition misleading. No response from calls with concerns or lied to in reference to items that should have been replaced and said were sent. No cpoies of paper work provided when told they would be sent.And NO return calls from owner when phoned several times to complain.See Akron BBB. Not acreditted business. Now I know why.
He kicked me out of the dealer when he did not want to argue. I had the car in to change the headgasket. Before doing any work on the car i told Josh (service assistant) to keep me informed of anything else that would need to be done to the car. The cylinder heads were taken for the shop to be checked and turned out to be ok. Changed thermostat and water pump.
