disappointed in menu---too limited
Food was disappointing. Make sure to ask how things are prepared. We were surprised by how one of our pasta dishes were prepared--totally different than we expected. Additionally, overly priced for the portions you get. It's one of those large plates/ small portions places. Food was bland and the pasta dishes were dry!! We had to request oil on the side. Only food point was the service--attentive and friendly. Many more less expensive places close by. Don't fall for the theatre close by ploy.
We went for a pre-theater bruncyh. Food was ok, nothing special. One guest of our party ordered the veal primavera, but got the veal milanese. The waiter did not know too much about the wine by the glass selection. The pizza ordered by another guest was good, except the cold slice of mozarella on top that seemed like recently defrosted. The profiterol - not worth ordering - the shell dough was tough. The big suprise was the 18% tip already included in the bill for a party of 3. Is this customary or just this restaurant?
A busy, times square restaurant with an emphasis on volume. Cocky, disinterested front of house. The young manager/greeter makes no effort to accommodate guests seating preferences even with a reservation. (has happened numerous times) He has a smug "take it or leave it attitude" The food and location or good but I will have to take my business elsewhere and encourage businesses in the neighborhood to do the same. Such a shame that a good restaurant is tarnished over one persons behavior.
Had high hopes as I chose this restaurant based on a recommondation from a friend. Our experience may have turned out different had we not been seated in the bar area. Mind you, I had made a reservation on open table. Our waiter . . .I mean bartender, was unprofessional and infact kinda rude. I must say that I expected much more in terms of both service as well as the food. The location is good if your're visiting the theater district, but the prices are expensive and in my opinion, you don't get what you pay for.
Service was terrible and our server was at best, rude. This is over rated and will not be on my recommend list for NYC dining.
My husband and I decided to eat at Bond 45 because it was close to the Broadway show we were seeing that evening. We arrived at 5:15. We ordered the fried artichokes which the waiter recommended. They were very dry and greasy. We had two glasses of wine: an $11 Reisling and a $12 Chardonney. Our dinners, the crab steak ($38) and the veal parmagianno ($47) didn't arrive until 7:15. Although the waiter, apologized, no adjustment was made to the bill. We had to shovel down the food and we were late to the show. I would never re... read more
For the prices, this restaurant needs to be a bit better. It's perfect for tourists who whom we went but I would never go otherwise. The food was lackluster and the service was adequate but not particularly good. Just a mediocre place at typical high NYC prices...
I had a reservation for Friday, December 16, 2011 at 3:30 pm.Bond 45 called me at 11:30 to tell me that they were having a private party and the person who handles the Open Table reservations forgot to make the day unavailable. While they offered give me a reservation at one of their other restaurants they only had lunch openings. If I ever decide to go to Bond 45 again I will not make my reservations through Open Table!
