I found the food at Bond45 to be mediocre at best. It is not a restaurant I would recommend simply because it was just okay -- nothing to write home about. We selected this restaurant as it was close to the theatre and based on what we had read were expecting a little bit more especially as far as the food was concerned. Additionally, I didn't really get the feeling that the wait staff cared if we came back or not. Apparently, they don't really need good recommendations; they must have plenty of business.
Probably one of the worst restaurant experiences I have had in New York. It was 45 minutes before our order was taken. It wasn't taken by the waiter because he never came back to the table after delivering our water. We had to flag down the hostess who was passing by and saw us trying to get our waiter's attention. Colleague and I both ordered cobb salads. After an hour and no salads, we decided to just leave and go someplace else nearby for a quick lunch.
I was there for a friends birthday along with 3 co-workers. We were sitting for one hour and never received anything but water and bread. I think prisioners receive better attention than we did. Manager, hostess, and waiter did even care that we all picked up and left. No apology, no expanation, nothing. Definately off our list of place to go for anything!
Convenient to Theatre District but way too expensive for the quality of food. Very noisy place and conversation was difficult. We had over 6 people so they charged 18 percent gratuity, which is normal, but the service was poor and it seemed she didn't care because tip was guaranteed. Would not go again.
Lobster salad contained about one ounce of lobster meat and a hunk of cold, fat-congealed bacon. When I requested lemon and olive oil dressing instead of lemon vinaigrette, I was told the chef couldn't possibly accommodate such an order because he was so busy. Our table was one of 4 occupied in a huge diningroom. A very bad experience.
Seriously? I've been here before and it was great! This time entire experience was awful. Server had 3 tables to attend to. Came over quickly took our order I had to stop him from rushing away because my daughter wanted a soda and he didn't ask any of us if we wanted something to drink. Then it took 55 minutes for 'brunch' to arrive. Brunch at 1:30 on a Saturday? Anyway.....server never came back to see how meal was. Finally I had to get up and hunt him down for the check.
Expense and food quality not a match.
have had dinner at bond for many years. . this was our worst experience. . the service was slow. the restraunt over books and cannot give esch customer the service they they deserve. . considering the prices of the food which is very expensive I do not think you are gettting good value for the amount of money charged.
Deifitely has slipped. Food not as good as it was and the prices are higher. Very touristy, whicg is understandable because of its theatre district location, but it used to be good even if you weren't in the area for a show. Signature dish, veal parm, was cold. Restaurant is looking a bit tired.
