Food is delicious, always fresh, with so much variety. Staff is always attentive, fast-moving, and seemingly happy. All are important - but the food is the MOST important, and from the beginning to the superior desserts-wonderful. Not fancy, just very New York!
We celebrated our anniversary there from Oklahoma. Wonderful food and service.... must go if you are in Manhattan.
Great as usual
Last night was a miss. I’ve eaten here many, many times, but cold chicken soup is not ok.
This place is just fantastic. We found this on our first day of our NY trip. We have been to NY five times now and always enjoy a diner. We often find a different diner to go to every day as we often find the quality is comparable. This place however is a cut above the rest. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, layout, speed of service, and most of all the quality of food was just superb. We came here every single day and got looked after like Kings. A special mention to the Manager, Chris. You know what you did Chris. You made... read more
My wife and I have been wanting to try the Brooklyn Diner for some time now and finally got the chance yesterday after the Columbus Day parade. The food was ok (my wife had the chili dog, which was lacking a decent amount of chili) and I had the chicken pot pie (which was huge but could have had more flavor) but the service was lacking. After we were seated, it took us about 10 minutes to get water and for a manager to come over and take our order. Service throughout the meal was slow, we waited some time, even between glass... read more
Although the food was acceptable, there was nothing terribly special about it. I got the double burger, and received two small patties that looked like pre-made, frozen patties. $19 for that and a handful of small fries (none greater than two inches long). My daughter got the $24 mac & cheese with frankfurters - a plate of mac with 12 thin slices on hot dog on it. Service was just all right - attention right up until the food arrived, and then, nothing. With so many other options, there's no reason to visit here twice.
Love, love, love the crispy polenta squares that are served with the Eggs Benedict dishes. However, still really miss the classic style with Canadian bacon. And, this time the eggs were a but under done and the hollandaise was too sparingly applied. Not their best effort.
Great service there for an early Saturday breakfast
