Burgers, Chicken Pot Pie and cheesecake are great. Don't waste money on the salads.
For someone who grew up in Brooklyn, the menu is heaven. I often bring out-of-town visitors, especially if we're going to Carnegie Hall. Service is friendly and attentive without being annoying.
My fiancé and I visited this diner as a last minute option on a slow evening. I wasn't feeling up to exploring new things and I don't particularly like diner food so I ordered the spaghetti, I suppose this was my mistake. The meal was overall tasteless with the best part being the meatballs. Unfortunately, one of my meatballs was completely inedible. Not sure how or why, I simply could not get my fork into it - at all. A little concerning. After we were finished it took probably 10-15 minutes to actually receive the check de... read more
Know going in that this is a $22 hotdog experience and you will be happy with everything. Our food was very tasty, and portion sizes were as expected. The historical diner feel was spot on. It was a bit overstaffed for dining levels when we arrived so we were 'treated' to an earful of industry chatter between two managers that was a verging on inappropriate for my taste. We ordered a cookie to take with us and the server brought it out on a plate with ice cream. When we clarified that we requested it to go he wrapped it for ... read more
Ate there on a Sunday afternoon. They had my reservation, but we still had to wait for a table. I had a Pastrami on Rye. This isn't the Carnegie Deli. Meat was good, but only about 1/2 the amount you used to get at the Carnegie.
House made pastrami outstanding. m Good basic food.
Noodle Kugel was sweet but delicious. Chicken soup was good but unfortunately they were out of matzoh balls! Burgers, hot dogs and sandwiches were huge. The strawberry cheesecake was more like a combination strawberry pound cake/ cheesecake. Next time would try chocolate blackout cake instead.
We went with our children who are 12 and 10 respectively for the whole diner experience! The Brooklyn diner didn't disappoint it was brilliant. The portions are huge so we shared starters and mains with the kids and it worked out just perfectly. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Brooklyn diner especially the chicken pot pie!!
My friend and I ate here before going to the Harry show on 57th between 10th and 11th. We had brunch there and it was good. The service was good. It is a Diner with a little more pizazz!
