We enjoyed the food. I thought the service was quite slow. Our waiter brought my wine with the meal and did not check back often. We still enjoyed it though. The ambiance is nostalgic and fun.
The food is tasty & plentiful. Be sure to verify portions, since most items are enough to share. The service is thorough & friendly.
Love this place! The hostess was great to change our table, because we're booth people. Our waiter was attentive, but not overbearing and the food was excellent. We had their specialties, the chicken pot pie and a Brooklyn burger, and were 100% satisfied.
It looks like a "tourist trap" but in fact it's just plain great, upscale diner food -- a kind of fantasy New York experience, only it's real. The portions are BIG, so beware! The service is friendly and the place is clean. Yes, go!
I love this place. The chicken soup is fantastic. The burgers are huge and good. Had the Cobb salad this time. It was top notch too. Next time I'm trying the chili. Would like to try a hot dog but at twenty bucks seems a bit too expensive.
We have always loved the Brooklyn Diner for brunch when we are in the city. We are leaving the NE area and decided we HAD to have one last brunch at BD before our move. The food is wonderful. The fluffiest pancakes I've ever eaten. I had the Kugel with berries and greek yogurt this time and it is the best I've ever had, as well. A busy, bustling place that reminds you that you are in the city that never sleeps. All other Diners bow down before Brooklyn Diner. :)
Didn't have pastrami. Really? Pot roast fajitas were very good though.
After two days of eating "pretentious overpriced food", it was a breath of fresh air to eat the food at the Broadway Diner. The food arrived quickly, well seasoned and hot, and with ample portions. The value for the food received was very good; the wait staff was friendly and attentive. If I visit that area again, it will be at the top of my list!
We get into the city about 6 times a year and always try to get in to Brooklyn Diner. This time I made reservations before hand and we were escorted right in. It's pretty much the best diner in the world and a really fun place to dine if you can get in. Brunch was especially delicious this time. Highly recommend!
