Both items, Chowder and Pot Pie, that we specifically went there for were out. Prices are very high... $21 for a burger. The staff was nice but slow. We ended up leaving and not eating. My gut tells tourist trap.
A stand-by dining overture to an evening at Carnegie Hall, and a pleasant surprise that our 6:00 pm rez for six concert goers was honored right on the button. But, the justifiably popular chicken pot pie was not available to us (although later arriving customers who may have been astute enough to order it in advance were served with that dish). Very nice feature of the BD is that the menu is varied, and both dainty and more robust diners will find items to suit their preferences. Not fancy. Not gourmet. Highly informal atmos... read more
The seating for two at Brooklyn Diner is cramped. Food was way overpriced. Hamburger was mediocre. And it was served very rare, I had to send it back and wait for another to be cooked. I wouldn't recommend. I used to like Brooklyn Diner for the ambiance but I was very unhappy this time.
This is the second time I've been to this restaurant and they are unable to offer a number of menu items and out of beer and wine.
111.00 for a meal for 3 people. Huge portions of not good food.
have been going to this diner for a long time over the years and for the first time it was a big disappointment, the food was good but the service which was always superior in the past was unacceptable. Waiter was not interested and not trained. We left before dessert tired of being ignored.
Extremely overpriced for what it was! A hot dog for $25?? We had three meals, a milkshake and a coffee and it was $150....
Disappointing tourist trap. Passed this "regular" looking diner so decided to go in for breakfast with wife and kids. $20 breakfast entrees and No Kid's menu started off the disappointment. Food was okay. Coffee was okay. Place was crowded. We made reservations a few minutes before entering and people who entered right behind us were told 30 minute wait so they left. I wish we did. Not worth it by any means.
I hadn't been to the Diner for a number of years. I was surprised they only open at 8am - a few people were waiting, like me. I wanted an everything bagel but they didn't have them, only plain. Took quite a while for the bagels to arrive, too. Hard to get our waiter's attention, for coffee refills, and had to ask for the check three times.
