Disappointed Last month we picked up this Brother multifunctional printer because we wanted a black and white printer and we did not wish to deal with ink cartriges. Today we returned the printer. Bad Customer Support! I was looking for an alternative to HP and Knew that Brother made solid products, finally located this model and purchased it. I was so pleased by it that I bought a total of 4 units, one for every family member. it is Solid, quiet, Fast and reliable. The reliability and inexpensive to operate were key in selecting this model. Although HP makes great products, they offer absolutely nothing that compares whatsoever. Fast, good capacity, but an energy hog and very noisy Small footprint, well integrated Ethernet access, large paper storage space, inexpensive (compared to HP) toner, and a document feeder, all at a very low price. In my past experience with Brother printers and fax machines they are extremely reliable and easy to setup and that is why I chose to go with a Brother. With a infrequently used copier the inkjet versions will clog and as the ink dries out in the print heads and they are a lot slower and in the long run a lot more... read more
Okay, but the HP was better. We bought this multi-function printer at my work to replace an HP, which was, in turn, replacing an old Brother. There are several things we have found that we do not like about this multi-function printer: When a fax comes in, the machine rings. We were able to lower the volume, but it will not let us turn the ringer off completely.
