Okay product, but my Samsung works better If you have not bought the printer yet, try Samsung. Brother automatic document feeder is crappy, print quality is inferior to Samsung. I print and scan a lot, Samsung has been the top performer.
DOES NOT WORK WITH MACs Neither of the two mac book pros that I have work with this device. I find the product to be relatively user unfriendly. I have downloaded several support software from the Brother product download-center, and none of them seem to be helping with the issue. The network-printer functionality is by no means perfect. There is a mobile app that works. It will probably work with Windows. So if you're a Mac family, don't think about this product. Breaks the Bank in Toner This is a lousy printer. I purchased 3 months ago because of it's network printing ability. You are considering purchasing a reasonably priced MFC printer that is passable. Problem is it consumes toner at a pace I have never seen and we go through about one printer per 18 months at the office where we use this device. Simply a bad product This is the a lousy product. I have had this for over a year and disliked it after two weeks. It does a poor job of its primary function, printing. The toner cartriage is a money maker for Brother. I did not get through a full paper tray before getting a message to change the cartriage. Might be good if one could get it to work My wife and I were able to lift the top and print out a few good copies, but otherwise it has been a bust. Papers put on top to copy get stuck or come out with a line down the side. Trying to fax something can take numerous tries, and the incoming fax function shuts off automatically after only two hours at the highest setting. Why? AVOID BROTHER PRINTERS AVOID BROTHER PRINTERS! Brother will NOT provide support on ANY issue if you don't buy Brother toner cartridges and ONLY Brother cartridges. I had a problem with the SCANNER and they refused to provide ANY support because I had an after-market TONER cartridge. The toner cartridge has NOTHING to do with the scanner! AVOID BROTHER PRINTERS!
not working I bought this printer to use in my office and in less that 6 months I received an error message "scan enabled" and to date i have yet to get the problem resolved and i am not able to scan, photocopy nor send fax. And those were the main reasons why i bought this printer.
Don't buy this! This looks like a good deal.. until you actually start using it. You start getting a "toner low" message after printing 20-30 pages. After printing less than a hundred, it will just stop working saying "replace toner". The Brother help-desk is absolutely useless. You are on hold for a long time and then a person reads you the manual - that's the extent of their help. I think all this is about Brother trying to sell more of their expensive cartridges. This is my first and last Brother purchase.
Perfect but what a pain. Not sure if Brother designed this on purpose or not, but from the day one I had problem with annoying "replace toner" message. Not easy to resolve it and there are only limited places where you can find information. The Brother website has "fix" for it but does not work (they decided to include resolution in "Advance Manual").
